  • when winry's parents are killed and ed runs up to her and gives her a big hug
• when ed and al perform human transmutation
  • al in his new body showing up at the rockbell's holding bloodied ed
• how sloth was born from failing to bring their mother back
  • in general how humunculi are created
• wrath having ed's leg and arm
• lust's backstory
• shou tucker's story
• how the homunculus instigated everything to lure someone into creating a philosophers stone

things i liked more in brotherhood

• roy mustang
  • his character is more fleshed-out, particularly: how much he cares for ed and al in trying to spare their feelings over maes' death, how he orchestrated ross' "death" to lure out maes' killer, his battle with lust was fucking awesome, his relationship with riza
• ed and al, though separated, both decide that they've had it with those around them dying and they want to help people
• al transmuting without a transmutation circle
• WINRY
• the season 1 opening
• mustang didn't kill winry's parents
• al fussing over ed as he sleeps with his belly out
• riza crying over mustang's presumed death
• ed and al both seeing al's body waiting at the gate, yet being unable to bring it back
• envy's true form
• al being upset over the hair on his helmet getting cut
• al sacrificing himself to stick with pride until the eclipse is over
• al sacrificing getting his body back because it would be no use at the moment
• nation-wide transmutation circle
• ed looking older (!!!)
• hoenheim is actually p cool

• prefer brotherhood to fma
  • i liked some aspects of fma, but brotherhood had a more cohesive story line and character growth
    • and a better ending, imo
  • the manga & brotherhood will be the "true story" for me, while fma is like an alternate retelling or au
• i wish there would have been a scene in brotherhood where ed and al hugged, but my headcanon is that it happened off-screen
• no edwin kiss, but they do have babies so there's that
• also no royai
  • headcanon that the dog black hayate had puppies with is roy's - he was recommended to get a therapy dog after the events of the finale
• i can't imagine ed and al not traveling together :'(
  • headcanon that every few months ed and al would meet up at some restaurant halfway between where they happened to be to swap stories of their travels and catch up
• headcanon that after ed's children are born, he starts to understand why his father did what he did and starts to forgive him, even if it's posthumously
• ed & al's theme - laugh lines by bastille
