Hi, so since the Halloween series is my biggest hyperfixation right now (may become a special interest again), I want to list all the movies in my personal WORST to BEST.

  • 13. Rob Zombie's Halloween II (2009 remake)

I'm not very hard to please when it comes to media. And I think a lot of people who say things are bad are exaggerating a lot of the time. But this was bad. It was too vulgar, the kills were too much (physically made me gag multiple times), Michael was too much in this one (too ooc), Loomis was an ooc asshole. I'm in the minority about them showing Michael's face in the movies. I like it, so long as it's done right. I'm on the fence if he spoke. But him being unmasked for so much of the movie and then speaking in the alternate ending was bad. I hated it. The only good points are Laurie's actress was good, loved seeing Danielle Harris, the hospital scene was mostly good, and I thought the theatrical ending scene where Laurie says "I love you, brother" was slightly touching and done well. Other than that... I got nothing. 1/10

  • 12. Halloween III: Season of the Witch

Was my least favorite until I watched H209. As a teenager, I mostly just hated it because it didn't have Michael Myers (like most others.) But when I rewatched it recently, I went in thinking I'd watch it as it's own stand alone film. I still hated it. The first half was okay. I guess. A lot was boring. I hated the main romance. Cheaters are gross. The whole motivation was dumb. The snakes and bugs was weird and confusing. I hated the ending with Ellie. I hated the ambiguous ending. Good parts... uhhh the masks looked cool. That's... about it. The commercial theme was catchy (annoyingly.) Edit: After watching this movie for the 3rd time, I've only just realized him and his wife are divorced so it wasn't cheating. Still weird. And one more compliment I can give is that the music is fire. 2/10

  • 11. Halloween Ressurection

I mean... there's some nostalgia for me. I liked Michael for the most part. The beginning 5 minutes were the only good part. Everything else was bad. The realty TV thing was so weird and awful. Busta Rhymes' character was so cringey. He made me chuckle a little sometimes. But mostly cringey. I didn't give a crap about any of the characters but Michael and I guess the main girl. I'm good at memorizing the names of the characters in the series, but I never can remember any of theirs. 4/10 (Okay these 3 are the only ones that I hate, but still watch since they're apart of the series. I promise the rest have more positives than negatives.)

  • 10. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

Well... everything they did was Jamie? I hated it. She deserved better. Tommy was annoying. I know he'd be traumatized, but idk why they made him so creepy. The strobe lighting near the end was bad. Unlike most, I like the Thorn storyline. I think it's mostly the nostalgia from when it was a special interest. The reveal of the Man in Black was pretty good. Him trying to pass it onto Danny was interesting. Please note that I have not seen the producer's cut yet. I didn't know it existed until recently since there was about a 15 year gap between the series being a special interest and my recent hyperfixation and of course, now it's expensive ugh. 5.5/10 (This is probably the only film I'm neutral on.)

  • 9. Halloween Ends

I won't write about this yet since it's day 1 because spoilers. I'll wait for the spoiler window to pass plus I need to watch it again and process some things. But for now... 6.5/10

  • 8. Rob Zombie's Halloween 2007 remake

This one was world's better than its sequel. Overall, I thought it wasn't bad. I enjoyed more than I disliked. I liked the new take on Michael. Unlike most, I enjoyed seeing more of his backstory. I think the actor who played his child self did really well. Dr. Loomis was insufferable in this film, although had a great actor. Loved having Danielle as Annie. I again liked Laurie's actress. The only thing I disliked about Laurie was how vulgar she was compared to her original counterpart. I loved the switch up of Michael going after Laurie because he wants to be with his sister. The mask was pretty good in this one. The kills were a bit much sometimes, but overall done well. I think the ending of this one should of been the ending. Erase the sequel. 7/10 (Every film after this I love.)

  • 7. Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later

Michael and Laurie in this one were amazing. I found it hard to care about John and his friends though. The scene were Laurie and Michael see each other threw the window of the door for the first time was one of the most iconic moments in the series. Everyone complains about the mask, I liked it. The ending was great. They probably should of left it at that and not made Ressurection and just started a new timeline. As much as I love Mikey, the ending was good. The scene were Michael gets annoyed with Laurie crawling under the tables and just starts flipping all the tables was also one of my favorite scenes. As well as when he lowered himself slowly from the pipe. 8/10

  • 6. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

I'm for sure in the minority for liking 5 more than 4, but oh well. I loved this film. Chef's kiss. Danielle Harris did amazing as Jamie. The ambulance scene was great. The rooftop scene was great. It was a bit annoying with the audio issues at the end, but oh well. The plot twist ending I don't really like since they never really went anywhere with it. 9/10

  • 5. Halloween II

I love this movie. I don't really have anything bad to say. It's not perfect but I loved it. The ending was great. Every intense moment was great. I do wish they'd of done more with Jimmy's character in future movies though. I also though Dr. Loomis was the best in this movie (not that he was bad in the other movies, aside from 5 a little bit.) 9.5/10

  • 4. Halloween Kills

I initially had some mixed feelings, but after watching several more times, I like it better. I know this movie was considered Michael's movie (the first one was Laurie's, and I'm assuming the next one will be Allyson's) and that Laurie was injured in the hospital, but I do wish we saw more of her in this movie. I love the flashback scenes, they're perfect. Although, I do think they'd of been better in the first movie. Michael was great in this movie and the kills were brutal and cool. James Jude Courtney really does amazingly as him. He's definitely becoming as iconic as Nick Castle. Seeing Tommy, Lindsey, Brackett, Marion, and Lonnie return was a treat. I'm quite sad that Tommy was killed, but with as reckless as he was being, it wasn't too much of a surprise. If I had to of chosen one of them to survive, I would of chosen Lindsey. So I'm glad she was the one to survive. I really hope she comes back in Ends. I have mixed feelings about Karen's death. The mob scenes were kinda sad. Also Big John and Little John were a treat and I adored them. Also, Cameron really redeemed himself I felt. The first watch, I didn't think so. But after that, I did. I also really loved Laurie and Hawkins' interactions were great. 9.5/10

  • 3. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

Stop throwing tomatoes at me, I love this film. Jamie was great. I loved Tina (aside from the barn scene and how loud she got in the car.) I'm bitter about Rachel. She deserved better. Also I really did not like how they made her all "lol whatever" about the noises and whatnot in the house. Like it'd only been a year since she went through a really traumatic experience. I know people deal with trauma differently but... she just was off in the movie. I liked the Thorn storyline, idec. I also liked the unmasking scene and seeing a tiny peek into Michael's humanity. I found it super sweet, even if it was all of 10 seconds. The mask in this one was the worst. I didn't mind the ending. Tina's friends were annoying. I liked the whole scene where Michael was pretending to be Mikey in the car and how sick of Tina's shit he got lol. The vent duct scene was intense and one of the most memorable. 10/10

  • 2. Halloween 2018

I pretty much only have positive thoughts on this one. I loved Michael, Laurie, and Allyson. Karen sucked up until the end. Her badass moment is one of my favorite scenes in the film. Cameron sucked. Maybe he'll redeem himself in Kills. Oscar was gross. Dave was annoying. I really liked Vicky when she was with Julian and I adored Julian. Ray was really funny. Sartain's plot twist was shocking. I did not like him though at the end. The music in this film is a big chef's kiss. I adore the music that plays when Michael chases after Allyson. The mask looks great. All of the maskless scenes were done perfectly. The bathroom scene is my favorite in the film. Everything in Laurie's house in the end was absolutely amazing. Especially the fire. The way Michael doesn't flinch at all when she lights his ass on fire basically and the way he just stares and how the fire lights up his eyes. So good. One of the best shots that always gives me chills. I loved the attention to detail (Michael's and Laurie's scars) and all the references to the other movies. The kills were all very good. My only gripes were with the kid in the beginning. Come on Mikey... and the guy with the jaw... I could of lived without seeing that. I know there's two particular deaths that were more gruesome and they didn't bother me as much as that one for some reason. The intense scenes were all great. 10/10.

I mean... who doesn't like the original the best? It's far from perfect. The acting is not the greatest. Some characters were annoying. The beginning is a bit slow. But the music was perfect. Michael was perfect. The unmasking scene was perfect. All the intense scenes, especially with Laurie, were perfect. Amazing ending. Also the way he sits up robotically behind Laurie in that one scene... always a favorite of mine lol. The mysteriousness of Michael was great. Comfort movie. 10/10
