Maximilian is shown to keep a fun and exuberant yet self-centered personality. He also seems to have a need to feel superior and be in control as he doesn't like putting himself out there to follow anyone first. He also always tries to blame others for his failures.

He heavily overestimates his abilities, quickly assuming he could do many things perfectly without even putting in much effort, and underestimating the actual time and skill things would take and believing his plans are perfect; this often prevents him from actually finishing projects, and leaving most of the things that he works on as 'works in progress'. He can be easily intimidated by those who he sees as authority figures, not wanting to let any of them down, even if they themselves annoy him. His pride also appears to be very fragile, shown when he cried in shame after having to admit to himself that some things that go wrong are completely his fault and that no one else is to blame. An example of how strong his overconfidence is is... why would I want to bring this up? Ha ha. You'll never know.

He likes being the center of attention, and being a big goofball. Though he isn't the best at emotional support, he likes to try and solve problems if you bring them up, and can try to be a listening ear. He also thinks that everyone feeling involved in activities is important, and will try not to leave anyone out. Though his first instinct is to blame others, he's usually rather quick to forgive minor slights, and can see when something he's done might have caused problems for others. He generally just wants everyone to have a good time.
