• 6 Traits Writing
    • A very simple (if not plain-looking) rubric for students to use. The language is vague enough to be used as a tool to evaluate one's own writing or a peer's work.
  • Kid-Friendly Rubric for Six Traits
    • It is indeed kid-friendly, and could be used as The Writing Rubric throughout the year. Easily printed out and pasted into a student's writing notebook for easy reference and to double-check work.
  • Kindergarten Writing Self-Evaluation
    • I'd let the students begin self-evaluating as soon as possible in the school year. These could be saved and shown to students to prove growth when they feel stuck. I like that the smiley faces make the rubric easy to understand.
  • My Editing Checklist
    • This could be given out while learning about the editing stage of the writing process. This checklist can be kept on hand for students who need/want to use it for every project. Instead of having the student check corrected, maybe instruct students to find a peer to initial and confirm that the mistakes have been fixed.
  • My Paragraph Has
    • I love how small it is—saves paper! Could be laminated and taped onto a student's desk to check off again and again with a dry erase marker.
  • Young Author's Revising Questions
    • I love the use of "young author" in the title, which will make students feel like real writers. This could be printed out when we write stories, poems, etc. to compile into a class book, and can be students told not to submit work until the revising questions have all been addressed.
