Sometimes I get distracted by the complexities of a messy human existence. I'm trying a list to help me boil things down to the basics. Here are my core beliefs. Any problems I'm having should theoretically boil down to something on here.

• I exist.
• The external world is generally real.
• Free will is real.
• Time is real.
• Evolution happens.
• The unconscious is real.
• Economic self-interest is the primary motivator in all social development.
• Interpersonal relationships are primarily driven by the unconscious.
• Talent is 99% effort.
• Most decisions in life boil down to a simple choice: What is right against what is easy.
