Adi Goldberg10/7/10 English-Autobiography Cherry Hill Road Take Me Home I had been waiting all summer for the day I finally left home to spend two weeks at a summer camp. At the time, I did not know much about Habonim Dror Camp Moshava, besides that it was a Labor Zionist camp and I would be in one of the youngest age groups. Knowing that I would be young without my older brother’s guidance was very worrisome to my 10 year-old self, but I wanted to finally venture away from my family and have my own identity. My mom and I had arrived early at Beth Israel Congregation and I waited anxiously for the bus. It was sweltering hot that day and I had packed away my water bottle deep inside my duffel bag. Leah, my older brother’s friend from middle school, could tell I was thirsty and took me inside to find the water fountain. Everything after that is a blur. I just remember waking up about 20 ...

(as a doctrine of mind, not only of economics) Socialism can be a conscious lifestyle choice that controls action and mental decisions. It is when one identifies as part of a whole rather than an individual. Property is not the only thing that is collective - so are hearts, minds, and decisions. The concern of one becomes the concern of all because they are one. This can involve sub-groups of a society, e.g. a kvutsah is a single unit as a part of the machaneh. The entire society would contain 8 or 15 or 100 collective groups, but not the numerical mass of the individuals. It is interdependence and codependence as an extreme. It is reliance, trust, and community. It is not beneficial for the individual soul, but it engenders a feeling of belonging and purpose. It is sacrificing the sum of the parts for the whole.

- Pg. 32 - He had come in so silently that even Simon hadn't heard him; closing the door behind him, he grinned as Isabelle pulled Simon's shirt down. "Molesting the vampire while he's too weak to fight back, Iz?" he asked.
- Pg. 35 - A few years ago his mother had taken him and his sister on a trip to Tuscany - a week of heavy, unfamiliar pasta dishes, unsalted bread, hardy brown countryside, and his mother speeding down narrow, twisting roads, barely avoiding crashing their Fiat into the beautiful old buildings they'd ostensibly come to see.
- Pg. 37 - "Hello?" Isabelle called from the other side. "Simon, is your diva moment over? I need to talk to Jace."
- Pg. 48 - "did you ever think that in a past life Alec was an old woman with ninety cats who was always yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off her lawn?"

- Pg. 143 - "yes, sir, I know a little Japanese but not very well." And he replied in Japanese "Do you want me to correct your accent?" and then translated right away into French. Well, I appreciated that for a start. Lot's of people would have said, "Oh you speak so well! Bravo!" whereas I'm sure I must sounds like some cow from Outer Mongolia. So I answered in Japanaese, "Please do, sir," and he corrected one inflection and then said still in Japanese, "Call me Kakuro." I replied in Japanese, "yes, Kakuro-san," and we laughed.
