- acting out cinderella with my nan in the hallway and on the stairs
- at the lake with dad i played down the hill at the lake shore and got damp leaves out of the lake with a stick, put them into a pile, picked daisies from the hill and pulled off the petals, i sprinkled the petals over the damp leaves and pretended it was a dish called "le mere"
- before i had a paddling pool i played with the blue square tub/container kept under the sink in the garden filled with water
- watching my cinderella video every morning for weeks (and mum saying "you'll wear the tape out!")
- getting up early (6-7am) at weekends and sneaking downstairs in hope I could watch videos by myself (and getting annoyed when mum came down early)
- chasing dad on the beach in norfolk with that soggy sand and throwing it at him
- being interested in general knowledge quizzes, testing myself with my general knowledge books with mum and dad in the lounge
- calling the remote control the "bleep"
- climbing up onto the toilet and standing on the sink to look out the window to see the garden/driveway when people arrived
- collecting conkers in autumn
- collecting paint samples every time we went to a DIY store
- collecting shells, sand, and pebbles from beaches
- coming home from nursery and watching sesame street with mum at midday
- drawing pictures on the ground with chalk
- writing mum notes on tissues
- racing raindrops on the window
- filling the bathroom sink with water and playing with smaller toys in it
- using the lids from bathroom bottles to make high heeled shoes - put the lid at the back of a flip flop then resting my foot on it and walking
- going to car boot sales in norfolk - tip toeing along that low brick wall in the town on the way there, picking out toys.
- going to friends' birthday parties and jumping around on bouncy castles in their garden
- going to the funfair over the road with dad twice a year - spinning teacups, mirror maze, hooking ducks, those big round balloons
- going upstairs after watching a tv show / movie and re-enacting all the scenes in my room
- grabbing the vidcam off of my dad and filming
- hanging buckets on the washing line in the garden and putting my toys in the bucket then spinning it around pretending it was a fairground ride
- helping dad clean the car in the driveway and spraying him with water from the hose whilst he got a bit annoyed and i ran around the car laughing
- hiding under the dinning table (by lying over the chairs and middle long part) when dad got home from work to make him guess where i was
- jumpinging up and down on my bed whilst playing music
- keeping "fairies" (dead dandelions) under my bed in an old cardboard red mug box and taking them out sometimes "teaching" the broken ones to fly
- lying on top of the large grey drain pipe near the lake and peering down it, sometimes pulling things out of it with a stick
- making "birds nests" out of clumps of grass on the school field after it had been freshly cut
- making daisy chains
- making plastic beaded necklaces and bracelets
- making up a game where i threw balls up the stairs and had to try and catch as many as i could and throw them back up without them hitting the floor or the top stair
- painting in the hallway with my little plastic table and chair (white table, blue chair)
- picking the berries off the ground in the driveway from next-door's tree and catapulting them over the roof using a badminton racket
- playground games - what's the time mr wolf, stuck in the mud, had, red letter, peek behind the curtains, duck duck goose
- playing "school"
- playing catch by myself in the garden by throwing a ball against the wall
- playing in indoor play areas - ball pits, slides, swinging ropes etc
- playing in my play tent
- playing in the garden a lot - in summer after breakfast i would go out there with my toys and multiple evenings mum would tell me to come in because it was past sunset
- playing in the paddling pool
- playing in that tree house at the end of the garden in the house in cornwall we stayed in on holiday
- playing school at home, pretending I was younger or older than i was
- playing with blank cassette tapes, recording my voice
- playing with plastic toys in the sink filled with water
- playing with snails in the garden
- pretending chopsticks were magic wands
- pretending straws from juice cartoons were cigarettes
- pretending the ground in the lounge was lava
- pretending to be asleep in the car or downstairs so that i didnt have to walk upstairs
- putting a skipping rope around a friend's waist whilst you grab the handles and they run with you behind, pretending they're the horse and you're the rider
- recording songs off the radio on a blank cassette tape
- riding my bike around the driveway
- roller skating in the hallway
- sitting on the back of the armchair and using it as a see-saw
- sitting on the multi-pack of loo paper in tesco whilst waiting for mum and dad to load the trolley onto the conveyor belt
- sitting with a tray of food on the floor after school and watching cartoons on tv
- standing on the toilet to look out the bathroom window and see the garden / driveway / check who was arriving
- swinging on the swings in the park for hours, even in the rain
- taking my shiny pink barbie handbag with me wherever i went
- the "dont mind if I sit here do ya baby?!" act I did in the lounge walking across from one armchair to another
- thinking i would never get any older
- using pots and pans and as a home made drum kit
- using the armchair in the lounge as a see-saw
- using the slanted part of the bath as a water slide
- using the stairs as a slide
- walking around the garden with my little red and yellow watering can
- watching wildlife documentaries with mum and dad on sunday late afternoons/evenings (i remember a lot of david attenborough)
- wrapping up mum's christmas presents with dad every christmas eve late at night
- writing notes to the tooth fairy and putting them next to my tooth under the pillow
- writing songs
- playing with that small pink water pistol
- flying my barbie kite on the beach in norfolk
- occasionally going into the loft with dad
- i cant remember how it happened, but i fell in to the lake once and when i got home i remember eating wotsits in the bath
- waving at next-door when we walked past on the way to school
- getting chocolate from the petrol station on the way home from school
- the morning assembly monotone chant - "good morning. mr cassidy. good morning. frienddddddddddsssssssssssss"
- nudging your friends in assembly and silently giving them a thumbs up if you were good
- writing notes to mum before bed and her "posting" her reply under my door so when i woke up i saw it lying on the floor
- burying my feet in the sand
- rolling down my long white socks to my ankle at school
- making a duck face when eating pringles - putting 2 in your mouth
- making "birds nests" out of piles of freshly cut grass on the school field
- wanting to get a smaller size top so that I could pretend it was a crop top (that pink one with white flowers?)
- pushing the sample button on those jukebox things in gift shops and some music stores that played nature sounds (e.g. whales/ocean)
- putting a water bottle in the freezer overnight to take it to school the next day frozen
- somehow managing to break a lot of things in the house - pulling the light fitting in mum & dad's room out just by holding it and pulling it back and forth, pulling the radiator off the wall by standing on it, ruining the laundry basket by sitting on it, pulling down the curtains in my room?
- sometimes before my birthday or christmas I would peek in one of the black bags mum hid my presents in to see what one of my presents was
- going around picking up all the confetti off the floor at the wales wedding and keeping it
- crushing up bags of crisps and pretending it was popcorn when I ate it
- going into the loft with dad
