• seeing uranus out the bathroom window when I went to the toilet in the early hours
• a fox running around in the abandoned pub car park in the morning when I looked out the window
• a wasp flying in and out of multiples holes in the trellis that divides us and next-door
• the moon and venus at 5am
• mars at 5am
• a robin singing in the tree at dawn
• a small dog running in the park with a frisbee round its neck like a necklace
• sunlight sparkling on the lily pads on the canal
• being slightly annoyed to find a car blocking the driveway but smiling when I saw the angel number 44 on its number plate
• sitting in the sun in the garden and thinking *where's the music, the construction site need to turn their radio on again like yesterday* and then a second later they turned it on

• a crow cawing at midnight
• a carved pumpkin on someone's door step already even though it's only early october
• the moon over the lake

• thick fog in the morning
• someone saying good morning to me in the woods
• a blackbird eating berries on a tree branch in the morning fog
• a magpie on the bathroom windowsill tapping around
• "social distancing at its finest" - man in tesco in the chocolate aisle

• the clouds going a faint orange colour at twilight at the lake
• a flock of seagulls flying in formation infront of the moon at twilight by the lake

january '21

• a small plane flying from the back of our house going north
• asking for a peaceful good night's rest and having a nice dream for the first time in ages
• a dog went out of it's way off the path to walk round my legs whilst I was looking at the lake
• a robin landed really close to me whilst I was standing by the lake
• the old man I see at the lake every week saying to me "it's nice walking round here isn't it"
• an egret wading in the stream in the woods
• a blackbird flying out infront of me suddenly across the path in the woods and making me jump
• ducks trying to swim upstream in the river
• a robin hopping towards me by the lake after I put out some bread for it
• the beautifully strong orange coloured sun at sunset
• the faint tint of pink in the sky at sunset/just afterwards
• my nose going numb from being out in the cold so long
• a coot diving for food in the lake after sunset
• an airplane leaving a pretty bright pink trail behind it in the sky after sunset
• horses playing with each other in the rain
• wading through the flood over the path between the lake and the river and in the woods from the river and worrying I was going to fall in
• overhearing a woman say to her friend what she's like with overthinking and thinking how I can relate to her
• the geese and ducks getting out the lake for me to feed them
• the pretty pastel misty sunset
• the waxing crescent moon at twilight out the back
• the first flower bud in our back garden
• snowdrops in the woods
• double rainbow over the lake
• blackbird singing at twilight
• a goose sneaking up behind me on the path by the lake wanting food

february

• the canal had frozen
• "capitalism is not pog" graffitied on the brige
• thinking about chaffinches and then shortly afterwards hearing a chaffinch singing outside (I hadn't heard any for a year or more)
• "my other ride is a unicorn" sticker on a boat when I was out for a walk when I'd watched unicorn store the night before
• seeing the first butterfly of the year
• hearing the kids in the nursery in the park singing "twinkle twinkle chocolate bar, my dad drives a _ car"
• seeing lots of angel numbers on cars' number plates
• seeing 2 ducks cross the road to go from one river to another
• being shocked to see spring blossoms are already fully out on a tree by the lake
• noticing a buzzard was sitting on a tree branch in the woods through the fence

april

• a woodpecker in the big tree out the back at twilight
• 3 mapgies chasing each other in the driveways, trees, and our garden at twilight
• a robin flying into next-door's greenhouse
• a cute fluffy white & ginger cat coming up to me by the canal
• a great tit carrying stuff in its mouth to its nest
• a great tit flying into a bush with a worm in its mouth

• a sun halo above the lake
• cygnets on their parent's back
• a friendly very upbeat irish man talking to me at the lake
• a long-tailed tit with fluff in its mouth by the lake (for a nest I guess)
• seeing a wagtail in our driveway for the first time in years
• seeing a green woodpecker for the first time ever (in the woods)
• a rat running into a sleeping duck by the lake
• realizing the smell of macademia oil is what hotel rooms smell like

june

• seeing friends themed mugs the day after I watched the friends reunion show
• hearing lots of sparrows in the B&M car park in R
• a bunch of swifts swooping down low over my head in the B&M car park
• the strawberry shampoo from B&M smells like the strawberry sauce you put on ice-cream
• 3 ducks flying over our house at twilight in the evening
• a duck and her 2 ducklings resting on the reeds in the river in the rain
• a gosling biting my cardigan because it was hungry
• seeing a goldcrest by the river, first time in years
• a husky running into our back garden (next-door's friend's dog)
• angel numbers on my phone
• seeing the wild flowers in the park
• lots of peacock butterfly caterpillars on the nettles in our garden
• baby starlings in our garden

july

• hearing seagulls in the distance at night time
• a man walking down the street at midnight shouting the "FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME" song
• fog at sunrise
• a fireball over our roof
• 3 white butterflies flying around each other/together in the sunshine high in the sky
• a small plane flying around in the sunshine
• a construction worker shouting "alright king kong calm down" to his colleague
• tons of seagulls on the roof behind the warehouse in the distance sitting in the rain
• 2 swans in the river in the pouring rain

august

• waking up with what looked like a vampire bite on the back of my thigh
• a baby robin in a tree by the lake looking at me
• a green woodpecker flying overhead when I was walking down the road to the lake
• a rat swimming in the lake with a piece of bread in its mouth that the ducks didn't eat
• clouds of pollen coming off the plants from next-door
• a robin waiting for me to finish gardening so that it could catch some fresh bugs from the area I cleared
• a jackdaw flying over
• 2 cute mice looking at me in between the long grass in the back garden before hiding
• a very furry caterpillar crawling in our garden
• leaves by the river already turning yellow
• lots of red berries already out near the lake
• tiny acorns growing in the tree by the lake
• christmas stuff in sainsburys already

september

• a lone horse in the woods
• berries, yellow leaves and conkers in the woods
• wasps drinking out of the cat water bowl
• parakeets landing in our garden and eating apples
• a white and black cat sitting on the river bank in the sunshine watching the river go by
• hearing a jackdaw by the lake
• the geese being back at the lake finally

• "we meet again!"
• a jackdaw flying overhead when I was walking home from tesco
• as it hit midnight on halloween eve going into halloween hearing a kid outside in the distance shouting "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" on repeat

• seeing a fireball out the window upstairs
• rock doves in our garden for the first time

• a chaffinch flying onto a branch by the lake
• a muntjac deer in the trees in the marina field
• a jay bird landing in the tree behind me after I posted the christmas card through the letterbox of the house over the road whose post we got
• an egret flying onto the river
• a boat on the canal with a christmas wreath
• a christmas jumper flung in the plants by the river by the road
• a robin singing at midnight
• a cormorant diving for fish in the canal

march '22

• waking up to a blackbird singing at 5am
• smelling a familiar smell from my childhood when I walked out of tesco (reminded me of gift shops in animal parks or an aquarium?)

• large seagulls making a noise on top of the flats, looked like something you'd see by the coast

• bat flying around the garden at 4am
• full moon moonset at 4am
• a dog standing proudly at the front of a canal boat going down the canal looking like a mascot

• a toddler in a pushchair saying hi to me in tesco express
• a cat sitting on a tree branch by the river watching the water go past
• a flock of jackdaws flying over the lake
• getting woken up in the night/early morning by thunder

• a red butterfly flew infront of me and nearly touched me on the walk home from tesco
• 2 dogs with bow ties on at the bus stop by home
