  • Paranatural
    • a bunch of paranatural teens getting up to shenanigans. the first five chapters are in comic form; for health reasons the artist has taken an 'illustrated prose' approach in later chapters. incredible art, incredible story. it does get rather lore-dense the further in you get, and the prose can get rather caught up in its jokes, but it's a very heartfelt comic with excellent characters. i've been reading this comic since i was the age of the main protagonists and it's really only gotten better as i've grown. i have an entire pepe silva-style conspiracy document dedicated to this comic.
  • The Property of Hate
    • i love stories about stories/storytelling/the art of it, and this comic delivers all that and more. hero's answer when click asks her what heroes do to monsters has stuck with me ever since i first read it years ago. no review i could give here would do this comic justice; it utilizes its medium in excellent ways. there's so much joy and wonder in it: as hero explores the new realm she's found herself in you're right there alongside her, marveling at it all as she does.
  • Godslave
    • currently on hiatus, so it's a good time to catch up on the archives. egyptian mythology-focused comic, with a compelling protagonist and deuteragonist(?) dynamic. enamoured with the art and characters of this comic, and i got very invested in the storyline quickly: i read the entire thing in one sleepless night, reread it again after i got some sleep, and i haven't missed an update friday since.
  • Sleepless Domain
    • on hiatus too, so it's a good time for an archive dive. the twist in the beginning got me totally off guard, and the journey the survivors take after that deeply compels me; i won't get too much into the details, but the way two particular characters' paths diverge, in ways that align perfectly with their established characters, is just. so good to me. the characters are charming, and the magic system is interesting AND mysterious. like seriously what's up with that barrier.
