translating my fics

at this time, i do not allow my fics to be translated into any other language, nor do i allow reposts (or plagiarism, obviously). i am very honored every time someone asks if they may translate my work, but i'm just not comfortable giving away some of my control like that. once my work is in a language that i don't understand and circulating around sides of fandom that i never navigate, there is no way for me to really have control over what is being done with what i created. i'm sure people ask to translate my work with no ill will, but i would rather just avoid that stress altogether. if i change my mind about this in the future, i will say so.

unwanted criticism

even if you have good intentions, it is never a good idea to give people criticism on their work if they didn't ask for it, especially if you aren't friends. i know i'm far from a perfect writer, but i still work hard and put a lot of effort into my fics, so any unwanted "advice" will just feel like a jab at the way i specifically wanted to do things. and if you leave rude comments on my fics or take advantage of the anonymous feature on my curiouscat to leave hate, i will probably just delete it and/or block you. if you're thinking of leaving criticism on someone's work, first take a second to ask yourself if it's necessary and if it's something a creator would want to hear from a stranger.

shipping drama and fan behavior

shipping is [doyoung voice] Fake. it's all just for fun. none of us are more right or wrong than anyone else when it comes to shipping. as long as no one is saying anything offensive or inappropriate, ship and let ship. you can have pairing and dynamic preferences, but don't be a snob about it. i have been around kpop fandoms for too long and i no longer have any patience for people who feel the need to fight and cause drama over the hobby of strangers on the internet. i especially do not tolerate this current stan twitter trend of "rude = funny" and i will mute and ignore anyone behaving in such a way.

also, top/bottom and dom/sub are not the same; not every couple needs to have fixed roles; and asexuality is a thing so stop assuming that every single idol is horny 24/7 and that if anyone thinks otherwise then they're weird. alternatively, do not shame anyone for writing or enjoying kinks, overall sexual content, or dark fic. just because something is not your cup of tea doesn't make it bad and immoral.

sexualizing the dreamies

i do not support the sexualization of any underage idols, period. it does not matter if the person saying inappropriate things is also underage themselves, because they are still lacking consent from the underage idol. (sexualizing legal idols is also a debatable topic, but at the very least, we tend to overlook such things if they are kept away from the idols). aging underage idols up just to write smut about them is also not okay in my book - if they were fictional characters then it wouldn't matter, but as real people it is a very different situation and could possibly be illegal depending on your laws. as for any dreamies over 18 irl (or maybe go by the korean/chinese/etc legal age if that makes you more comfortable), there is nothing morally wrong about writing rated things at that point. i will probably ignore your smut, but i will not shame you for it as long as you keep it away from me/people who don't wish to see it.

nsfd/nsfw accounts run by minors

i am not comfortable with nsfd accounts, so i would appreciate if nsfd accounts didn't quote or interact with my tweets with any sort of description of sexual content involving the dreamies. nsfw accounts that focus on the older members are okay, but if they are run by underage fans then i really do not wish to see your content. as an adult, it is both disturbing and possibly illegal for me to witness a minor's sexual tweets. i am of the opinion that minors on nsfw twitter should keep their accounts private (and also keep to their own spaces and not interact with nsfw adults), but i have no authority to control that. just please understand how uncomfortable it can be for an adult to see a 16 year old reacting to their rated fic, for example, and pay attention to the ways you can possibly land yourself on the adult's radar.

triggering topics

for me, writing is not an outlet that i use to deal with my own trauma, nor do i find entertainment in most heavy or angsty plots. i do not like fic elements such as major death, rape, depression, suicide, addiction, etc. i always tag topics in my own fics that could be triggering, although i will very rarely write such things. i'm also not particularly into many kinks (i just read whatever i come across that sounds interesting), especially not the more out-there ones like incest, dubcon, watersports, etc. however, i won't kinkshame anyone for what they like, nor will i judge someone's angst fic because i understand that people have complicated relationships with fiction. it does annoy me when it seems that people only write triggering plots for shock value, though :/
