- 5/1 nikki dental surgery + mammary tumor removal
- took nikki to solomon's vet. was told she has teeth abscesses (which are bacterial infections of the tooth) and needs to have dental surgery and most likely have several teeth pulled. while she's under anesthesia she'll also have mammary tumors removed too...
- the bill would be $2500 to $3400. dad and i think we should have this done for her for her health. mom doesn't think we should put her through it. keish is leaning no because she can't afford to help. i feel kind of 'meh' about it all.
- 5/7 early mothers day
- celebrated mothers day with the whole family + cris a little early. we went to asahi for lunch... it had been yrs since we been there. the food was nicely presented, but cris and i felt kind of off (he got diarrhea) afterwards. also the cake keish got for mom was too rich/chocolate-y for me, i couldn't finish
- we talked about all kinds of stuff
- how many oreos keish can eat in one sitting (like 10?) dad said only what could fit in his hand would work
- we talked about nikki, her potential surgery
- we talked about money (for shane's rent thing, how he doesn't eat much when he's away), investing in general, mom's retirement, dad's 401k, keish's debt (sort of)
- talked about ingrown hairs, thinning hair (keish showed us a picture rob took of her top of her head) and if she should take biotin etc, peeling feet treatment (dad gave me some of the feet peel kit he had, wisdom teeth (i have all of my teeth still, yes yes)
- 5/18 shane's school graduation, 7pm
- 5/28 - 31 north carolina memorial day weekend
- visited cris mom and sister's family. the kids are getting bigger. cris still isn't nice to them, and it definitely bothers me.

- the world according to jeff goldblum (disney+)
- atlanta, ssn 3 (hulu)
- the ep about the high schooler who passes as white, but couldn't pass as black to get a scholarship by a rich black philantropist/businessman was so interesting.
- i loved that it was done in black and white
- the staircase (hbomax)
- prestige drama murder show... i wasn't familiar with the original case, but apparently it started off the general interest in true crime that exists today.
- interesting through-lines (flits between 3 different timelines), well acted...!

- liam neeson
- the best part of the movie was tazzie, the dog
- 5/17: margin call (2011) [netflix]
- talking about the time leading up to the stock market crash of 2008... an unnamed banking institution - one of the risk manager's was starting to figure out the math that their mortgage backed securities were trading on (based on) was extremely volatile ... would bankrupt their company
- 5/17: our father (2022) [netflix]
- the sheer, fucking audacity that 'doctor' had that he was not WRONG to put his sperm in other people without their knowledge or consent and then years later not have ANY shred of remorse. it's so ... unbelievable.
- 5/20: species
- 5/21: old (2021)
- interests / general thoughts:
- walking in morning still. listening to podcasts. 5/11 switched more to spotify for podcasts lately
- reading more articles (money related etc)
- early may: i couldn't really sleep week of 5/2 and on the weekend i kind of realized that coffee was fucking me up. 5/9-10 i'm sleeping much better after limiting caffeine intake (sort of)
- ~5/10: watching dr strange explainers, the staircase companion podcast
- 5/13: getting used to my muscles. i did 33 push-ups in a row, that's great! i can feel my arm and back muscles growing and i'm happy to see them.
- i'm still getting used to the idea of growing my muscles. i know it's a phase and that if i keep training, my fat will go down and i won't look 'bulky' but i guess i'm in the actual 'bulk-y' part of it now.
- 5/16 took nikki to the vet (again) for blood work, surgery pre-check ($243 spent) and was given some payment plan options for her surgery. went to petsmart after to buy her pet food and
- 5/17 i'm definitely feeling and noticing the effects of the epic 1 program + walking consistently now. i'm not changing my diet much and feeling stronger. earlier in the week, i felt hungry and just ate a little more to feel full
- 5/19 when i told cris that i got renter's insurance he scoffed at me. sigh. but i know it was the right decision so, oh well.
- 5/27 felt really hungry when i woke up. ate leftover frozen protein waffles. even though i was down to work today, i'm feeling less motivated now. after i ate and drank coffee (la colombe shared w/ curisu), i felt ready to do some cardio. today's 12-3-30 felt really good and i focused on my breathing and didn't hold onto the bars as much.
