- frost on a window and knowing that I don't have to get out of bed in a hurry.
- being able to sit up in bed with a hot cup of tea and watch rubbish television like Gilmore Girls or Gossip Girl.
- having a guy who sees your shittiest haircut, but loves you and laughs with you at your mistake.
- painting my nails and it not chipping (for once!)
- handing in essays, because nothing beats the relief of getting rid of an overbearing weight.
- getting essays back, because usually the marks I get surprise me.
- working and feeling as though I have a purpose for living.
- eating and watching people eat.
- the smell of plastic sandals that children have.
- coffee, oh my god.
- bicycles and Paris and Prague and croissants.
- church bells from miles away, so I can hear them over hilltops.
- walks in the countryside when the sun hasn't risen and there's no rain and the breeze is gentle.
- taking photographs and laughing because that makes the heart lighter.
- emotions and mood swings that make everything more interesting.
- falling in love and being in love, even if it's not reciprocated.
- finding interesting people and letting them engulf me.
- watching television programmes while at university, on the world's most uncomfortable chair, because what I'm watching is good and my company is better.
- getting closer and closer to getting trophies on Skyrim.
- avoiding people I dislike, because now that's become a past-time of mine.
- did I mention bicycles? I absolutely LOVE them.
- I love watches more though, and I collect them lovingly. I love the passage of time, and the monitoring of it, especially because I can barely tell the time, which is another good thing about being alive, being out of the loop of time.
- books, all the classics that could never be re-written today: Dickens and Bronte and Austen and Orwell and Tolstoy and Tolkien and all the other beautiful authors that make up my literary collection on my Kindle and bookshelves.
- writing and having friends who are writers, because whenever I get into a writing rut, I know I can keep the flame burning by editing and reading their works.
- poetry, especially Shakespeare's and Plath's and Larkin's.
- fluffy socks and huge jumpers and log-burning fires.
- Christmas trees and huge amounts of presents given by me to others.
- chocolate melting on my tongue, but not getting stuck to the roof of my mouth, I hate that.
- ART!! I can't believe I've not mentioned art; galleries and moleskines and sketch pads and journals and everything that can be drawn, whether in pencil or blood, because creativity can be morbid and fascinating and lovely and unique.
- music, naturally, because nothing beats depression like listening to Vivaldi's 'The Four Seasons' and waiting for the winter season, because that story has always made me think of the story of The Little Match Girl.
- family, no matter how much they bother me because they and I are so dissimilar; they will probably always be there for me.
- having a friend is very important to me, as is being liked.
- there's more than this, but this list is already too long...
