Being caught in the rain is the great equalizer. For a brief moment, nobody is preoccupied with whatever thoughts are flying through their heads. All at once, everybody becomes aware of the same thing — experiencing the same phenomenon in unison.
Nevertheless, the budding ethos of materialism has taken hold, sinking its proboscis deep into the collective soil and spreading like a fungus, ever maturing as we all become increasingly intertwined while pulling ourselves apart all at once.
Human nature is imperfect and you must inevitably endure pain. You will never be able to permanently keep that which you strive for. Moments of elation will come to pass, but one day, so will you.
