YACFTPS #1! Classic fairytale princesses do an awful lot of waiting in towers (or comas, etc...) for their prince charming to come. If you were a fairytale princess, where and what would you do when you wait?
- I would read, listen to music, dance, and SLEEP to pass the time if I was stuck in some tower.
YACFTPS #2! Fairytale princesses always wear the prettiest ball gowns! If you were a fairytale princess, what would your dress be? (The dress can be totally over the top if you want)
YACFTPS #3! Now for the story! What is your princess story (don't include the prince yet)? Are there spells, curses, an evil step mother, etc? How do you get to waiting for your prince charming to come and save you?
- I'm a singing princess. My "gift" is my voice, and I'm renowned for it. My mother died in labour, but my father didn't remarry until I was 15. At first she seemed nice, but it turns out she's NOT. She's an evil sorceress. Two years later, after my father's mysterious death, my jealous, evil stepmother curses me and takes my voice away. She then locks me in an old tower filled with old furniture and dust. I set to cleaning, and discover a bed, a table, chairs and also a decrepit piano hidden beneath a pile of rugs and sheets. I tune the thing myself with a makeshift tuning hammer, and befriend a couple of birds who sneak in little trinkets, books and sheet music for me so I don't die of boredom. Luckily my tower is so remote that they can't hear me playing.
YACFTPS #4! What would the fairytale be like without Prince Charming coming to save you on his white horse? How does your prince save you?
- The crown prince of a neighbouring kingdom visits the castle, because the plan is for him to marry one of my cousins (my father and I are both only children). The whole kingdom thinks I have gone mad and that I was locked in the tower for my own safety. The Prince wants to get to know his future wife's castle better, and so he takes to wandering around every morning. One day, he goes up a lot of stairs, and notices that everything on this side of the castle is dusty, old, and neglected, but there's a small trail that looks like someone walks one path across the dusty floor each day, and comes back the exact same way. He decides to follow the trail, to satisfy his curious nature. As he gets closer, he hears someone playing the piano. It's a bit of a rickety sound, but that only adds to the effect. He starts to walk faster, and faster, and faster, until he brakes into a run, and then BAM. He comes to a sudden halt. There's a door! He presses his ear to it, and clearly hears the music coming from inside that mysterious room. He knocks. The music abruptly stops. I'm scared in there, because this is not the usual time for them to bring me food, so I'm afraid they heard me playing and are going to break down the door and take my piano and books away. I decide not to open the door, but quietly sit at my piano, holding my breath, waiting for them to leave. The prince knocks again, and asks if anybody is in there. He then introduces himself, and commands me to answer him and open the door this instant. I smile to myself, since I'm incapable of doing either. Instead, I walk up to the door, and tap it once, very softly. I hear a sharp intake of breath. "Hello?", he whispers. I knock again, twice, and a bit louder this time. He rattles the door, but of course it doesn't open... He rattles the door again, mutters something that I daren't repeat, but then gives up. "Who are you?", he asks. I sigh. I'm not sure if I should tell him. Maybe I'll scare him off, since everyone think that I'm insane, and I really don't want that. I scramble around for a piece of paper, but instead of writing my name on it, I write: "Please don't tell anyone that you've heard me playing, or that you even know that I'm here. Come back tomorrow if you wish, and I will try to tell you who I am. And destroy this paper." I shove it under the door. I hear him picking up the paper and flipping it over in his hands a couple of times. "All right", he says, "Tomorrow then. Goodbye." Even though I know that I shouldn't get my hopes up, I can't help but feeling that this man is going to be my saviour. Since everybody in my castle knows that I'm locked up in this darn tower, the person who was so surprised by my discovery must be someone from the outside. And given from his gallant, gentlemanly ways, he must be the Prince! EEK!
- The next morning, a little while after I've been brought my breakfast, there's a soft tappity-tap on my door. I jump up, race to the door, and knock on it softly in reply. "Hello", I hear". And then: "I'd like for you to step back, please." Puzzled, I do as I'm asked. I hear a dragging noise, then a grunt, and then a deafening crash. There's dust everywhere, and when it has settled on the floor, I see my Prince standing in the doorway. "Ah, I thought so", he says. Turns out he heard rumours in the castle (gossiping chambermaids), and he decided to take matters into his own hands. So he recruited a couple of strong men, cut down a large tree, and barged my door down. Ha. My kind of man. After he saved me, I tell him my story. We talk (at least he does, I write my remarks on pieces of paper), and after three hours of discussing our lives and such, he asks me to be his wife. Of course, I can't vocalize my answer, so I just kiss him instead.
YACFTPS #5! Now that your prince has saved you, what's he like and what's his name? Describe his personality and looks (post a picture if you want to be creative!)! :-)
- My Prince (or rather, fiancé) has dark brown hair, and eyes so dark they're nearly black. He's quite a bit taller than me, and very muscular. He gets his muscles from wrestling dragons, hehe...
YACFTPS #6! Time for the fairytale wedding! Describe your royal wedding! :-)
- We get married in his castle. I'm still a mute, so instead of reading our vows aloud, we have our witnesses read them for us. Instead of saying "I do", we put our right hand on the other person's heart.
YACFTPS #7! All fairytales end in happily ever after! Describe you and your prince charming's happily ever after! :-)
