a (ash yellow, blue bar, and black, respectively) frillback originates from asia minor possibly— i think its wings look like chocolate shavings, and though aesthetically pleasing, frillbacks struggle to have the same capacity to fly as ordinary pigeons due to their curly feathers, making them more vulnerable to predators. charles darwin owned some of these. frillbacks today don't exist in the clean legged variety... they are still very cute.

a goldfinch also a book by donna tartt. i like their little faces, they look like targets.

a brunner pouter pigeon they scare me a bit, but in an intimidatingly beautiful way. they are reminiscent to me of siamang monkeys who inflate their gular sac.
