  • "All you need to be to happy is someone to love, something to do, and something to look forward to."
  • Zodiac signs and random historical figures.
  • Mistaking my heavy wheezing for the first notes of Kids by MGMT.
  • Shiny red rosehips in the morning sun.
  • Stanley Tucci ("tangy"!). And cats. Gosh, I miss having cats around.
  • On the first day I truly felt better after a horrible flu: lounging in bed without a blanket, afternoon sun in my face, eating candy (from the pharmacy but it still counts).
  • Holding your face over the mug while a fizzy tablet is dissolving inside.
  • Lena Dunham's Women of the Hour podcast.
  • Japan's 72 microseasons
  • A fun Beethoven Google doodle.
  • Sleeping with the beautiful man. It's just SO nice. We really seem to connect on some level. Also: watching him draw write a few sentences. We have pretty much the same handwriting. I've never felt so turned on simply by watching somebody holding a pen.
  • Some friendly tenth-graders. Eyeshadow compliments, making fun of them for going to a Justin Bieber concert. Making impressively simple paper stars with the little ones.
  • Dreaming about Sitki.
  • Playing SingStar with Claudia (finally someone who sings as loud as me) / Frank joined us for two rounds of Buzz. I feel really comfortable around her and I appreciate her direct and open character. I hope we'll get to know each other better. I could definitely use her in my team.
  • Bonne Maman lemon cookies with poppy seeds.
  • Fran Meneses is my nerd soulmate or something. She's wonderfully dorky.
  • The Year Compass is a nice idea.
  • Making thai food with Claudia, Fabi and Frank. Playing Activity and Skat. Leaving for Strom at 2am, spending some time with Frank and Manu. Bonding a little with Frank, even though we're still having a tough time quite often. Perhaps we can work things out in the holidays...
  • Glass noodle salad. Oh my. Coriander and fish sauce. Mmmmh.
  • This, again.
  • Visiting my colleagues from last year in SOB. Also, one of my pupils. Even though I had such a sad and lonely time there I'd still like to take some of the people and bring them with me to my new school. So much miss!
  • Christmas Eve was quite OK. Martin's girlfriend Annika is lovely and we spent the evening playing Activity and drinking liquor. I even got one or two decent presents!
  • Peggy Guggenheim and the upcoming film about her.
  • A massive Vietnamese food coma. I just can't stress enough how much I LOVE this restaurant here in LA. I live for their tofu bun.
  • Going to the cinema (Arena in Glockenbachviertel) with the beautiful man. Going home afterwards, talking about our worst fears, keeping each other warm.
  • Spending a lovely day in Munich. Breakfast with coffe and an avocado bagel after an appointment - reading in the sunshine, even though it's December. Meeting Lena, borrowing a graphic tablet, eating at Koriander Too, visiting Villa Stuck. An evening with Fabi and Frank, shopping for New Year's Eve, watching some TV...
  • The Magician Trilogy by Lev Grossman. Such a good read. Spending hours after hours reading in bed, totally content.
  • Making plans for 2016 with the beautiful man. We're gonna try to overcome our problems and help each other accomplish some goals. I hope it will be as good as it sounds at the moment.
  • Celebrating New Years's Eve with Sonja, Frank and the Fabis. Making burritos and tortilla wraps. Drinking a lot of red wine. Cruising around the city in a taxi, crashing a weird party, agreeing on a club, mock-fights with Frank (I was winning because he was so drunk) and coming home at 8:30am.
