We really don't like this platform because it's a really public platform thanks to things like the platform having "no" algorithm and public blocks (to this end, we do not use Clearsky or other block-viewing tools), but because many of our friends are on it after fleeing Twitter and refuse to acknowledge or perceive Mastodon (including our account), we are on it out of reluctance.

We check new followers for any of the following:

• We followed you first (obviously).
• Common interests.
• Common friends.
• We know you already (e.g. from another platform or in real life).

Fail to meet any of these checks and we reserve the right to block you.

We will also block those who:

• Are bigots, abusers, or other bad actors.
• Are minors and interact with our NSFW tweets or follow.
• Accuse us of stanning Elon Musk just because we criticized this platform.

"But blocking is meaaaaaaaaaaannnn :((((" Well go complain to Bluesky staff so that we can soft block people (i.e. remove followers without blocking them) instead of hard blocking them.

Our notifications are off and we use Bluesky through private browsing windows to mitigate addictive habits, so don't expect immediate replies.

Furthermore, even if we follow you, we probably won't see your posts because they're buried under 500 trillion political reposts.
