- the silent patient - alex michaelides
- summary: happily married woman murders her husband and never speaks again. years later, a psychotherapist assigns himself to her case because he believes he can reach her and make her talk.
- rating: 4/5 stars
- mini review: incredibly well paced, super engrossing, virtually unputdownable, and has a fantastic and well executed twist. personally i didn't love one certain reveal, but i loved the rest and it was still a great ending and a great read. the audiobook narrators are especially talented.
- run away - harlan coben
- summary: adult man's daughter runs away with her boyfriend and gets into drugs, then he sees her in the park years later and tries to get in touch with her again. she runs. he chases. things unravel.
- rating: 4/5 stars
- mini review: a bit of a slow start, and the theme of a parent's unconditional love for their child was a bit boring to me, but there were so many layers to the story where that theme came up in diff ways and was fascinating. also this book reads like an action-packed 007 movie. once i was hooked i couldn't stop for even a second. so many moving pieces, and that ending/epilogue holy fucking shit lol.
- sharp objects - gillian flynn
- summary: reporter living in chicago is asked to go back to her small town where she grew up to report on the murder of two young girls. this is a very slow moving eerie and fucked up book. tw for cutting.
- rating: 4.5/5 stars
- mini review: i unfortunately sensed who the culprit was very early on, but somehow it didn't detract from this story at all. it's so moody and disturbing, and really gives that feel of small town southern gothic that i adore. also the mc camille is so messed up but so interesting.
- the girl on the train - paula hawkins
- summary: woman obsessed with fantasizing about a couple she sees when the train stops on her way to work every day gets involved in their lives when she sees something happen, but she's a horrible alcoholic and can't rely on her own memory. story told from 3 perspectives.
- rating: 3.5/5 stars
- mini review: expertly woven between events and narrators, including the unreliable main character. the audiobook narrators are so, so good. the panic and intensity is palpable. the reveal is pretty good, unfortunately i didn't like how straightforward the ending was, i wanted a little more/another twist. felt like i still had some questions afterwards. but it was really engrossing and wildly memorable, and i legit could feel myself in london reading this.
- the wife between us - greer hendricks & sarah pekkanen
- summary: ex-wife obsessed with her husband's new fiancé starts stalking her to confront her. or not.
- rating: 4/5 stars
- mini review: the twist was FUCKING incredible. unfortunately i felt like the ending was a bit anticlimactic/not dark enough. there's a twist in the epilogue tho that surprised me. this was a RIDE and a really interesting take on a domestic thriller!
- lock every door - riley sager
- summary: broke af girl living in nyc signs on to be a live-in apartment sitter in a super fancy old gothic building full of wealthy tenants. then one of the other apartment sitters goes missing.
- rating: 5/5 stars
- mini review: perfection. feels like it should be paranormal as you're reading, you keep waiting for a ghost to pop out. the twist was incredible. the ending killed me. i love everything about this book.

- summary: husband and wife start murdering to keep their marriage interesting. things get twisted, of fucking course.
- rating: 4.5/5 stars
- mini review: i completely guessed the twist right away, but this book was such a ride it didn't really matter, it was great to just see how it would all unfold. the perspective narrative choice was perfect and i loved all the twists and turns along the way. that ending too, damn.
