i find it difficult to rate books using numerical/star rating systems but i still want to have an opinion about them. so, i will try my best to express what i think about them here 𓇼 (also i have a love and hate relationship with goodreads and i want a different outlet for my thoughts) ——————————————————————————————————
🕮 THE MAD WOMEN'S BALL ┊ VICROTIA MAS
went into this not knowing what to expect and surprisingly i really loved this book! a historical fiction talking about the state of women in 1885. how scary it was being a woman with an opinion or being a little more sensitive than the people, especially men, around you can tolerate. makes me think a lot of how difficult it is to be a woman these days but i can't image how it was then. some moments in this book were truly chilling, with a little spark of fantasy. overall great read!!!!
🕮 SIX OF CROWS ┊ LEIGH BARDUGO
where do i even start!!! i loved this book so much. everything from the world building, the characters, their relationships, the BANTER! it's been a while since a book got me so hooked, i had to stop myself from reading it all at once, because i wanted to savor it longer. i love all the characters and i have nothing bad to say about this book. a new favorite for sure! can't wait to read more from the grishaverse WOOOO. also, i didn't know there was any order to the books when getting into this so i hope it will be okay hehe......
🕮 GIRL, INTERRUPTED ┊ SUSANNA KAYSEN
i usually don't read nonfiction, especially memoirs, but i am trying to read more genres this year. it was a short interesting read, talking about real human experiences. made me curious to read more about mental health, specifically when it comes to the mental health of women.
🕮 DIVINE RIVALS ┊ REBECCA ROSS
i loved the setting of this book, especially the concept of the magical typewriters! i am a sucker for enemies to lovers and i really liked how their relationship progressed through the book. but, the excitement to pick up this book faded quite quickly and when i did pick it up i just wanted to get through it. sometimes i find that books about war make me so anxious. overall, it was a nice read but i am not sure i will continue the series.
