Favorites, and what I remember about seeing them for the first time, etc.
- The Little Mermaid
- I saw it in a theater when I was four, and I remember being terrified of Ursula when she grows at the end.
- Aladdin
- I saw it in second grade on a class trip. We went to a theater in Raleigh to see it, and we stopped at Burger King for lunch and everyone else got to play on the playground, but I had to stay in with the teachers because I had a case of strep throat so bad that I could barely talk.
- Beauty and the Beast
- My dad rented it for me whenever it came out on VHS. I didn't really like it when I was a kid--a few years ago, I had this sudden urge to see it so I scoured used movie stores and bought a copy, and I've come to love it.
- Oliver and Company
- I never saw it during its theatrical run, but I remember really wanting to. I saw it for the first time on the Disney Channel and have loved it (and its underrated soundtrack) since.
- The Jungle Book
- My dad bought my brother and I the VHS copy when we were kids, and sometimes when we got bored we'd watch it. It was one of the few movies we could always agree on.
- Cinderella
- I remember watching it while sitting in our old recliner at our old house when I was little.
- Hercules
- A friend and I saw this one the summer before sixth grade. I watched it again last year and went from being totally indifferent about it to loving it.
- The Princess and the Frog
- I went to the earliest show at the mall. It was the day after my birthday, and in line at the concessions was a woman in her mid 30s who was urging the guy to bring her popcorn faster because she was going to miss her movie. When I asked which one, she said, "_The Princess and the Frog_!" excitedly.
- Tangled
- The weekend after Thanksgiving I saw this after watching BatB on DVD. I almost missed the show because I decided to go to a theater in the next town over and ended up getting caught in rush hour traffic.
