    • Have you seen "The Gospel According to Matthew" by Pasolini? One of my friend is studying theology (university level) and her teacher said this is probably the only decent Christian movie, even though the director is atheist (maybe that makes him more objective?).

I am only twelve minutes into it but I am REALLY UPSET it took a whole twenty years to get this into my eyeballs I gotta say

#it's a black and white italian film and the angel gabriel is a girl with heavy black brows and piercing eyes #everything is the sound of the wind and rocks and faces #there's this scene in the market it's DEVASTATING #mary is doe-like and dark and lovely and the score isn't really anything to write home about (they use ''motherless child'' for the epiphany #which is a bit ??? but wow) #some of the camera work reminds me of joan of arc #but it's all OUTDOORS and there's all these tremendous faces
