Not all who wander are looking for something either...though most are...in my experience anyway. I'm looking for a lot of things, so I observe and list and review to double check and make sure I'm not skipping over anything I would really like to give more attention to...to see what strikes me enough to list... to observe myself from a perspective farther removed than the intimacy of my own brain....

I am living in and perfecting my lifestyle in a classic Airstream trailer from the golden age of motor travel and road trips across the North American Continent. Grand Canyon, Rout 66, San Fransisco to New York...this is my list of steps to reach that ultimate way of living, Le Vie Bohieme...

  • The awning on my dear streamer is striped brown and red with little ruffles along the edges, tassels on the corners where the string hangs to roll it back
  • The steps have a carpet that rolls out from inside down to the ground
  • There are hardwood floors throughout my dear streamer, hardwood interior cabinetry and siding on the walls and ceiling
  • One counter is a hardwood chopping block, there is a classic white metal stove/oven, a 2 bin sink and an electric refrigerator. A blender and a toaster both sit atop the fridge
  • Through the kitchen is the bedroom, a full bed sits against the back of the trailer under a nice wide window that opens behind custom made sheer embroidered curtains. The shapes of flowers and antique birds are silhouetted when the light comes through
  • The bathroom to the side has a small tub/shower with beautifully remodeled tile sink/ counter and toilette. The window opens wide and the shower is just big enough for two people... ;)
  • The bed is quite luxurious, with a feather tick over the mattress and modle sheets, a down comforter and wool blanket for cold nights. Thick pillows create quite the nest of feathers. it is a den, a lovers haven, all soft and warm and light. Lots of brocade, velvet, tassels, and silk.
  • The front room is quite spacious, there is an oriental rug covering most of the floor in front of the couch, which is wonderfully upholstered and serves also as a storage bin underneith. The entire back end of my dear streamer is windows, rounded about the corners and opening wide. They all are custom fitted with curtains of the most luxuriously bohemian sort.
  • In the corner across from the door there is a small tiled in area with a tiny pot-belly stove; The Queen Bee. She has a small chimney that goes up out the roof and successfully heats the whole trailer, shuts down, and banks well. there is a platform that can be placed over her top on which sits my precious copper tea kettle, always ready for a steaming cup of tea.
  • To one side of the couch there is a table made of wood that folds up flat onto the wall when not needed, it is a prefect lap desk/work surface.
  • On the other side of the couch is a niche where a small antique table stands, the first shelf bearing my ever so precious Crosely and the top holding the most magnificent planter of Fuchsia, Geraniums, Vinca Vines, and Elinore. The Fig Tree lives in the lover's lair.
  • A wee Telli sits atop a shelf next to the kitchen cupboards, complete with a small case of classically wonderful films and music
  • A shelf attached to one wall that houses my alter, a place to prepare a Japanese tea ceremony, a manifestation blessing, a growing herb, a found object, or any other form of sacred acknowledgment. There is a place always for a tea candle or some form of fire, a plant for growth, a feather or two, and water; being a dish of rain, a ball of snow, a cup of tea, or an icicle.
  • There are photographs too, on these walls, my favorite and most exemplary samples of my trip...the witch pictures, a few from Mexico, my mother, my sisters, my father, adventure after adventure, lovers and inspirations. Framed leaves and Gusi's art.
