• being followed by an accordion player in a red tuxedo all the way from union square to NoHo (he carried a suitcase and there were doctor who stickers on it)
  • running into david karp in front of tumblr headquarters while he was on his lunch break
  • being told by a security guard that the flower crown i wore looked "awusome"
  • seeing two amateur filmmakers get ready to shoot in chelsea market
  • finishing the lyrics to "wake me up" by ed sheeran as the words came out of his own mouth. the room was silent when he sang "but you drink as much as me..." and i completed "and i get drunk a lot!"
  • flipping a coin inside the MET waterfountain and wishing that one day i could come back. god only knows how i actually did, and very shortly after.
  • people-watching on highline park, seeing rich men stroll along with their wives and thinking "their life must be fucking nuts"
  • casually chatting to the elevator lady at tiffany & co. then being asked by several salesmen if i wanted help choosing /my pearl/
  • watching dad kick back a ball to the pitch where a bunch of guys were playing football in central park, then screaming "BRAZIL!!!"
  • seeing evita front row on broadway and consequently sitting really close to where ricky martin performed (my sister went crazy)
  • speaking portuguese really fast near american people just so their facial expressions looked extremely confused
  • going for a walk with my dad around times square in the early hours of the morning, after he had a big argument with my mom and i felt like i needed to help them unwind. it was independence day and the empire state building was lit up in blue, red and white. there was also a saxophone guy on the street playing the most melancholic tune ever. i felt like i was in a movie.
  • desperately crying where john lennon was murdered, imagining the scene that took place exactly where i was and being angry at the assassin
  • eating pizza in the attic of a restaurant in little italy
  • almost touching an alexander mcqueen gown at the chaos to couture exhibit. thinking "i wanna be as huge as this man was"
  • brainstorming in the hotel room "oh my god. i'm actually in nyc this is surreal. oh. my god. LET'S GO WILD"
  • expanding my one direction memorabilia everytime i walked into duane reade or barnes & noble
  • watching phineas & ferb amongst little children at disney store, mesmerized at how childish i looked but also how happy i felt
  • staring at van gogh's "starry night" for about half an hour and seriously controlling myself not to cry
  • listening to bastille's "things we lost in the fire" on top of the empire state building, as if the whole city was mine and i had the power to do anything i pleased with it
  • being inspired 24/7
  • dancing in the shower to a song i created back then, something like "the sky is the limit where only i can go, it's reflected onto the water as the hudson river flows"
  • riding the subway anywhere, dancing in the rain with my sister as we sang frank sinatra
  • standing in front of madison square garden and thinking "BAMMM!! THIS IS THE EPITOME OF SUCCESS! THIS IS WHERE ELTON JOHN PERFORMS I'M ON TOP OF THE WORLD FUCK YEA"
  • helping my sister spread "LOOK!!! IT'S JAY Z" through the street and making heads turn
  • generally just amazing things
