This weekend we had our dress rehearsal for Treasure Island, the English/Japanese musical :P These things are exhausting but I love them. Here are some of the highlights:

• Costumes: I get to wear this AMAZING costume, since I'm the captain. I adore it and I look awesome :D
• Onstage romance: There are multiple onstage romances, including an unstated one between myself and Mr. Errol. No one ever mentions it - but you can feel the tension ;) Plus, our costumes match. What else does a functional relationship need?
• Mr. Atlas, aka the shipbuilder/Fozzy-the-bear. My co-worker Brent delivers this amazingly ridiculous performance that lights up the whole stage. It's fantastic.
• Our amazing mast/sail. Our director rigged up this fake mast that's essentially a giant slinky with brown fabric sown around it. It lowers from one of the overhead bars. We also have a working sail.
• The dances! We're threw "Hard Knock Life" in this show to replace that really dumb number in the pub from the Muppet movie. It's so fun! We had about four choreographers for this show and that brought a delightful diversity to the show.
• The cast and crew. The show's atmosphere is so upbeat this year! I love how everyone is so friendly and personable. Together we are making this a wonderful show <3
