In other words, best moments that happened during my life. Enjoy

  • 1975 NFL Divisional Championship Game

★ Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ★ December 28th, 1975

At the tender age of eight, I could have no idea of the history playing out before me. Rarely can you pinpoint exact moments in your life that have historical significance and shaped you as an individual. This would be one of those rare moments. The moment that I became a Cowboys fan. The Cowboys and Vikings would face off in the 1975 NFC Divisional Championship at the frigid Minnesota Metropolitan Stadium. Late in the game, trailing #1 seed 14 to 10 the Cowboys were faced with, and unbelievably converted a 4th and 26. This set them up at the 50 yard line, no time outs, and just 32 ticks left in regulation on the clock. Captain America took the snap out of the shotgun formation, pumped left and launched a bomb to the right where it literally stuck between Drew Pearson's hip and elbow. Momentum carried him into the end zone for the unlikely go-ahead score. After the game Staubach called it a miracle, a "Hail Mary". The term stuck and is now commonly used in the NFL to define last second miracle plays. Eight year old me had no clue what I'd just watched, but I knew it was big time, whatever it was...

We have a new #2!

  • 2023 World Series, Rangers vs. Diamondbacks, Globe Life Field

★ Rangers vs. Diamondbacks ★ October 27th, 2023

In one of the most unlikely World Series Matchups in the history of baseball, my sad sack Rangers brought October Baseball back to the metroplex. Game One, World Series, Globe Life Field. I still can't believe I just typed those words. How can you top being back in the World Series? Start it off with a game one for the ages. Even unaffiliated baseball fans are calling this one of the best World Series game ones of all time. In a tightly played game, the favored Rangers found themselves down 5 - 3 in the bottom of the ninth. Number nine hitter Leody Taveras, in a great at bat, works Arizona closer Paul Sewald for an uncharacteristic walk. Next Marcus Semien strikes out swinging, bringing up red hot Corey Seager as the tying run. Fox play by play announcer Joe Davis states "he could tie it up with one swing of the bat." Two seconds later, he did just that. Seager murdered the first pitch he saw, depositing the no doubter way back into the right field stands, enshrining the phrase "HIGH drive, ITS TIED!!!" into the DFW play by play Hall Of Fame. He knew it was gone before he even finished his swing. THIS is why we invest so much into watching sports. To go from despair to elation in a heartbeat. The game would go into extra innings where an even hotter ALCS MVP Adolis Garcia walked it off on a opposite field home run sending the deliriously frenzied home fans home with a smile. This will probably be the most remembered hit of the game, but it wouldn't have been possible without Seagers titanic blast (and Leody's clutch walk). Oh yeah, the Rangers also went on to win the series 4-1 to completely excise the phrase 'Game 6 2011' from our psyche.

  • 1987 MISL Championship, Game 7 (best of 7, tied 3-3)

★ Dallas Sidekicks vs. Tacoma Stars ★ June 20th, 1987

The Sidekicks were down 3-1 at a packed Tacoma Dome with just over 2 minutes to go in the game. The Sidekicks turned to a desperation move of pulling their goalie and using him as a sixth attacker, something that ended up disastrous every time they tried it during the regular season. Amazingly, with 2:25 to go in the game the move paid off and the 'Kicks were within a goal at 3-2. Staying with the 6th attacker lightning struck for the second time just 50 seconds later and the Sidekicks found themselves tied at 3-3. The rest of the third period wound down quietly and we were headed to overtime. With 4:25 left in the first overtime period, the Sidekicks completed one of the most unlikely comebacks in indoor soccer history, sealing their first MISL Championship with a top shelf blast off the left foot of Tatu, as the stunned crowd of 21,728 (the largest crowd to ever see and indoor soccer game at the time), looked on in utter disbelief. The confetti and balloons festooned in the rafters in anticipation of the home teams inevitable victory, might still be up there to this day.

  • Superbowl 12, Louisianna Superdome, New Orleans LA

★ Dallas Cowboys vs. Denver Broncos ★ January 15th, 1978

The 75,583 in attendance and millions watching on tv, saw the Dallas Cowboys put an emphatic cherry on top of one of the NFL's most dominant seasons ever with one of the most dominant Superbowl wins ever. For the first time in NFL history, a Superbowl wouldn't have an MVP. It would have two. Harvey Martin and Randy White would become the first (and still only) Superbowl CO-MVPs. They also became the third and fourth defensive players in NFL history to become Superbowl MVPs as Dallas' Doomsday Defense Orange Crushed the Bronco's from whistle to whistle bringing home their second Lombardi back to Big D.

  • Stanley Cup Finals, Games 6 (best of 7, Dallas up 3-2)

★ Dallas Stars vs. Buffalo Sabres ★ June 19th, 1999

After 3 grinding periods of playoff hockey, 2 grueling overtimes, the Dallas Stars clinched their first Stanley Cup in the third overtime on a controversial goal (at least to the whining sore losers in Buffalo) from Brett Hull. Sabre fans still complain about the game winning goal, but what they all forget if they do disallow it and Buffalo wins, they still get their asses kicked in game 7. So, no use in bitching anyway.
