The cinematography was beautiful, as expected from Luca Guadagnino. I went in knowing nothing aside from the cannibalism, and even then wasn't aware of the extent nor the romanticism, which I admittedly enjoyed, and I imagine that was exactly the director's point: Romanticism of our most animalistic modes of purpose. We can't go on without eating, we can't go on without one another. To watch a film so beautifully mash the two together was a new watching experience for me, and I don't think anyone could have done it as well as Guadagnino, Chalamet, and Russell.

This is a movie meant to be rewatched. I am so, so happy it snatched a ton of Oscars. It deserves that and more. Michelle Yeoh played a character with millions of faces, both literally and figuratively. She knew how to make us hate and love her. I haven't seen a movie that left me in such awe before, in a way so hypnotizing, the movie could have gone on forever and I wouldn't questioned it a bit. I could give a better review, but I'm just talking to myself! I love this movie, and everything about it.

I can't believe how long it took me to watch this movie...? It was beyond good. I'm excited for the return of this Joker. Joaquin Phoenix is a method actor like no other.

I do no plan on watching these movies ever again. The first movie was the most entertaining, only for the fact that it had the "element of surprise". The two others put me to sleep... literally, especially after the most likeable character was killed off.

Boring. Boring. Boring. Maybe, I'm just a superhero hater. I do like Spiderman, though.

I loved three-fourths of the movie, but the last quarter went downhill. Perhaps, because I am crazy picky about action scenes, or because I didn't really enjoy the female characters the way I wish I did. Harley, though, is played magnificently by Robbie.

Funny as hell, especially now that I'm older. I will say, though, that it was a bit too long.

It's hard to say "enjoyment" because this was a beautifully, viscerally tragic story that you wish could have gone a different direction, but remained bitterly true. That's life. You love Charlie, but you also understand he's a man full of demons, a man you could understandably dislike if you were in a particular pair of shoes; like his daughter's. She warmed up to him in the last second, but even so, I can imagine she grew up with that resentment still deeply seeded within her, but I understand why. She had many reasons for her disdain, but not the actions with which she justified for the sake of her parental issues. I would rewatch this, but I can't. It was too good. It hurt too much.

It's definitely rated higher for nostalgic reasons, but also because of the fairytale elements. As a child, I watched this with the idea that it was magic. As I've grown older, I've realized it was all about a child coping. Matilda was abused; not simply mistreated, but downright abused. Neglected, underfed, ignored, spit at. You watch this movie with a strong heart, you fall in love with Miss Honey, and once the credits start rolling, you feel like you can take a breath of fresh air. Or, is that just me?

The action scenes were good, which tends to mean the acting/script was mediocre. In this case, yeah, that's what happened. But then again, I am picky about action movies.

I would have rated this as a 10 if not for the marriage scenes. Yes, I understand this was for character development/depth, but I don't care for the bullshit. Regardless, it was a great movie and I plan on watching the entire trilogy.

Rate of enjoyment: 10/10

Simply put, this movie is magical. It makes me laugh and cry. This is either my fourth or fifth watch, and it sure as hell won't be my last.

It's understandable why Dustin Hoffman snatched the Oscar for Best Actor. Although, I don't think this film would have done as well in this era. Instead of cheering for the father breaking gender norms, it's possible the general view would see it in a negative light—the fact that the mother was viewed as selfish and inadequate, despite it being the truth. By no means was he a good father in the beginning; for many years, he was emotionally absent. His job had the best of him and until he was forced to face the music and take care of his son on his own, did that change. All in all, it was quite a heartfelt film. I can't say I'd watch it again, but I don't regret seeing it. Besides, it's referred to, and I do enjoy a good reference.
