Redeeming Love (2022)

  • 9/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
  • One of the most beautiful embodiments of Divine love i've ever seen on screen; simultaneously thought-provoking, powerful, spiritual, and heart-shattering
  • Extremely painful, violent, & disturbing at times, but stunningly beautiful overall
  • Made me cry too many times to count; incredible ending
  • One of the most moving transformation/redemption arcs i've ever seen
  • Beautifully acted & written; the lead actress was absolutely mesmerizing & the lead actor left me smitten- both did a phenomenal job embodying their characters and made the story feel tangibly, painfully real

Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022)

  • 9/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
  • One of the most profound, ground-breaking, unusual films i've ever seen
  • Touched my soul & moved me to tears numerous times; made me feel understood to a degree few films ever have
  • Excessively gross & graphic at times; the vulgarity and violence was a bit distracting & made me wish there was a cleaner version for us sensitive souls- had to cover my eyes several times
  • Absolutely phenomenal acting & writing; astonishing performances from all the leads
  • Somehow managed to be philosophical, goofy, avant-garde, absurdist, mystical, deep, irreverent, romantic, heart-wrenching, & terrifying all at the same time- it encompassed a vaster range of genres & evoked a vaster range of emotions than any film i've ever seen- felt less like a movie and more like an immersive journey that left me feeling reborn by the end

The Little Mermaid (2023)

  • 10/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
  • One of the most visually beautiful, magical, atmospheric, & immersive films i've ever seen
  • Easily one of my favorite movies of all time; the best Disney live-action film by far
  • Touched my soul, awakened my inner child, & made me profoundly happy and excited; the perfect film for misfits and idealists
  • Incredible casting, amazing leads, perfect chemistry; Halle and Jonah were made for these roles
  • Beautifully romantic, idealistic, hopeful, & inspiring; the ultimate feel-good movie for any audience
  • Characters given a lot more complexity/depth compared to the original, making the romance much more satisfying & well-developed
  • Beautifully written! The 'Eric guesses Ariel's name' scene is one of the most memorable, beautifully written & acted film scenes i've ever seen, right up there with the poem scene from Before Sunrise
