In no particular order. These range from creepy to terrifying.

  • Seeing a 1964: The Tribute performance in which the balcony where I was sitting began to move as people swayed to the music.
  • Climbing to the top of a metal grate fire tower during a tour of Mammoth Cave.
  • Suffering from temporary cervical dystonia as a side effect of a medication I took once.
  • Experiencing sleep paralysis and hypnagogia every night with the effects of thinking I was: having a seizure, being paralyzed, falling out of bed, being crushed by something on my back, or having an unknown person in bed with me.
  • Dissociating in general.
  • Having panic attacks with any of a variety of symptoms, although I never thought that I was going to die or have a heart attack.
  • Almost being trapped behind fire doors when a fire alarm was going off. (No fire, fortunately, but it was frightening at the time.)
