• mosque controversy - i used to live on williams street, and i walked passed the wtc site dozens of times each week. it pained me to see tourists taking photos in front of it and street vendors with cheap crap with the emblem of the towers on, vendors who were even selling photos of the towers on the fire. what gets me is how people can tolerate this disrespect but cannot tolerate a peace-loving people trying to build a house of worship.
• the BP spill - it wasn't until i don't know... day 50 or something, but on that day the weight of this entire thing hit me, and i had to drive somewhere that day, and i remember being in the car and having this terrible feeling in my chest like i hate that i am driving this car, i hate that there are a million cars on the road and that this is the way life is and no one, including me, is finding a way to ch...
