- they turned me on variously to bill cosby, the beatles, bob newhart, cool jewelry, petula clark, to sir with love, billy wilder, auntie mame, audrey hepburn, alfred hitchcock, stephen king
- they also embraced bad taste - anne murray, jane oliver, the kurt russell and goldie hawn film "overboard, irving wallace novels, beater cars, unimpressive addresses, spam, cranberry sauce in a can, powdered mashed potatoes
- neither of them got cell phones until about 2003
- they have embraced the internet and even have a laptop
- my dad takes his dog with him to the grocery store
- my dad has worn pyjama bottoms to the grocery store and calls them "slacks"
- my dad gave the most sentimentally awesome toast at my sister's wedding
- they are amazing grandparents
- my mom has never been out of the states,but her dream vacation spot is the Great Barrier Reef or Africa
- They both get "tipsy" after two drinks
- My dad worked 2 thankless jobs to finance our education for nearly 15 years
- they try new things
- they taught me it is most important to be kind
- they were very liberal with the "I love yous"
