I make lists for everything! Otherwise, I forget EVERYTHING! And I'm terrible at at putting my list in places where I'll see/find them. Maybe if there'll all online I'll be organized. At least they turn into clutter around my room. And it's eco friendly - doesn't waste paper! *win, win*

these things make a home feel happier, at least in my opinion. these are the things I would want in my own home when I move out and can't be told not to have candles, and I can pick the carpet I want.

  • twinkle lights (sometimes, maybe. seasonally?). Start with these to set life in your new home off on a happy, positive note! can take down later if it doesn't feel right.
  • pretty carpet, otherwise the whole room's feng shui will be off. maybe if i had a pretty carpet i'd be more motivated to keeping my room clean.
  • shelves (built-in or bracketed to the wall(s))
  • flowers, vased and potted in pretty vases and pots
  • scented candles
  • beauty - I would love to be surrounded by beauty. beauty can be found in many places, things. surround myself with things i love.
    • pretty prints (in fabrics, etc)
      • cloth napkins in fabric that i choose
      • pretty placemats
      • drapes
    • posters (art, favorite movies/characters/bands/etc)
  • an altar, with:
    • twinkle lights?
    • flowers! lots of flowers!
    • idol (not necessarily religious - more like an admired idol)
      • Sailor Moon statue?
      • Wonder Woman statue?
      • ballerina figurine?
      • a fashion designer or someone whose life/work I admire?
    • pictures of things i love
      • the ocean
      • ballerinas
    • asian things
      • an other things of my heritage/origin/roots
        • things I loved as a child
          • Totoro, the cat bus
    • water. maybe one of those small meditation plug-in waterfalls? not for looks, since fake waterfalls are stupid, but for sound, because even a fake waterfall sounds like rushing water (but more like a creek than a waterfall. maybe they shouldn't be called waterfalls but creeks.).
