- For Me
-
- pay off my debts (and Travis's)
- buy a nice place for me and Travis in LA. Not too big... 3 bedrooms tops, more likely two. paint it all with lively colors and make the kitchen a cook's paradise, with new appliances and lots of counter space
- pay for lots and lots of plane tickets for friends and family to visit in LA
- buy a new laptop (Macbook) and a gorgeous Mac desktop
- replace some of my clothes, and buy Travis some new shirts
- pay for a personal trainer
- buy some more fountain pens
- drink wine more often
- find myself a damn good therapist in LA who I pay enough to not feel silly seeing for "minor" problems
- buy more fresh produce
- as silly as it is, pay a professional organizer to help me start out my life in LA as organized as I can reasonably be
- pay for movers to get our stuff to LA, so Travis and I can fly or drive slowly and without worries
- take the summer before grad school off and travel, preferably bringing some friends along for the ride
- perhaps fund one of my back-burner ideas, like one of those science video games?
- buy a car that will get me where I'm going with relatively little fuel, and that will last me a long time
- lock up a bunch of money in savings/investments for various periods of time
- take frequent mini-vacations: trips away to visit people, weekends away for a break from everyday stress, journeys to places I always wanted to see, scuba-diving trips
- buy good dark chocolate
-
- For Travis
-
- buy him a car
- fund his dream saltwater fishtank
- provide all the electronic goodies his heart desires
- buy him a ridiculously nice office chair
- pay for lots of massages
- give him whatever help he desires in starting his company
-
- For family
-
- set up funds for my siblings' and travis's brother's college + a little "start your life not totally broke" money
- buy my parent's a house & help travis's father to pay off / fix up the place however he wishes
- If we're talking really astronomical sums here, fund Bobby's first restaurant/hotel, my dad & mom starting their own business, and travis's dad starting... what is it, a bakery?...that he has talked about
- Do something wonderful for Aunt Sheri to show how much I appreciate my awesome godmother
-
- For friends
-
- Help out a few people with the most dire circumstances
- Again... those plane tickets!
- ... other things, dependent on needs
-
- For others
-
- Set up recurring donations to extremely effective large charities
- Donate money to Purdue to be put towards scholarships
- Make frequent small charitable contributions in my immediate community
- Put my money where my mouth is on major issues I care about (funding organizations, campaigns, etc.)
