• seeing as people often have a lot of (similar- or not) playlists that have shared songs between them, i thought it'd be a neat idea to add a bit of randomisation into the playlist(s) without sacrificing the particular transitions between, or orders of, certain songs that people spend time curating
  • basically how this would work is as follows:
    • playlists a and b share a song somewhere in the middle of the playlist.
    • one would choose one playlist as a starting point, in this case 'a'.
    • playlist a would play as normal until the shared song between it and list b is reached.
    • at this point, the latter half of either playlist 'a' or 'b' would be selected to continue onwards.
    • with one song and two options starting with playlist 'a', this gives the possible outcomes of 'a' followed by 'b', or 'a' followed by 'a', continuing on uninterrupted.
    • this concept can be expanded upon with more diverse 'splits' -- a song can have 3+ branching paths, as well as having more shared songs as the lists go on.
    • this would result in a web of sorts with interlocking pathways formed by each playlist that shares at least one song with another.
