this is a cute topic! i used the random generator.

  • dreamly: a very beautiful and simple dream journaling app with a space to title, describe, and doodle your dreams. the design is so lovely.
  • imoodjournal: the simplest and most helpful mood tracker i have found. you rate your mood on a scale of i think "awful" to "great" and then you can write a little note and attach a picture if you want. it adds your rating to a bar graph that makes it super easy to see your mood changes over time. and it makes graphs with the line of best fit to show your mood trends-- on which days you tend to have high or low moods, etc. and average ratings for the day/week/month.
  • vsco: the ultimate photo editing app. makes your photos look like an urban outfitters photoshoot. a little annoying and hipster or whatever that even means anymore but it make your pictures look pretty and that's all that matters.
  • weheartit: the best app for finding pretty wallpapers! and just obsessively hearting and categorizing photos. i love it.
  • pandora: i exclusively use this for getting ready in the morning and showering. so much easier than trying to make playlists or pick songs while applying eyeliner or shampooing. also useful while painting!
  • shazam: i used to hear songs i didn't know in stores or commercials and quickly try to memorize a line to google when i got home. now i have this amazing app! it's become kind of annoying by trying to get you to share tags and add people and junk like a social media site but i need it forever.
  • rain, rain: perfect rain sound app. you can mix different sounds in or listen to interesting ones like a washing machine or forest bugs chirping. i love it for when i have a headache or anxiety or just need to sit and wind down with some repetitive white noise.
  • breathe: has a longer name in the app store? something about meditation and/or mindfulness. a guided meditation app where you choose 5 emotion tags and it matches you with a meditation routine to help your bad feelings and boost your good ones. also lets you track mind and body wellness and gives you stickers for completing meditations and tracks your progress.
  • myfitnesspal: the most helpful for scanning barcodes, finding obscure meal items, logging weight, and visually seeing your eating habits/nutrition. couldn't obsessively calorie-count without it.
