Franvice in Year 2

  • Character has weird perspective in some drawings. Watch for that.
  • Make sure that head is in proportion to body
  • Good keys won't stop bad in-between without good construction.
  • Try out some stuff: draw storyboard in comic-type format.
  • Bring in new pass to the next class. work violently over the break.
  • Character does seem animatable.
  • Things that need better construction: torso (decide whether or not it's like a peanut, don't work from outside "silhouette", work from inside, formed construction.)
  • Drawings tend to look like they're out of habit

Critique from Linda in Year 2

  • More observational drawings
    • composition first, observed shapes inside
  • Draw standing up
  • Draw aggressively, passionately!!
  • Try to show movement, pattern.
  • Design because of observation.

Critique from Andy in Year 2

  • Make purposeful shapes.
  • Have a variety in shapes in line-up.
    • In particular, he noted "space prince" could be more pear-y if he had fluid, circular shapes instead of boxy hands.
