General Beauty Tips by Beauty in a Bottle

  • Try not to touch your face. This can spread germs & dirt from your hands. Wash your hands regularly and sanitise frequently used items e.g. phone, keyboard, mouse.
  • Always wash your face before bed. It not only removes make-up, but dirt and germs as well. It also allows the skin to breathe. Make sure to wash your pillowcase frequently as well.
  • Use warm water, not hot, to wash your face. If you like a hot shower, then use your hands to splash the water on your face instead of putting your face directly under the water.
  • Eating healthy and drinking lots of water will reflect in a smooth and glowing skin tone.
  • Always moisturise, even if you have oily skin. Use, a light gel formula which is non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores.)
  • Exfoliate regularly, especially if you have oily skin. Removing dead skin cells allows sunscreen, serums and other treatments to sink in and work more effectively.
  • Don't use products just because they have been recommended. Pay attention to whether they actually work for you. Keep trying different products until you are happy with the results.
  • Keep your routine simple. There's no point in buying extra treatments that you're never going to use. Only make it as complicated as you're happy to carry out every day.
  • Aloe vera gel makes a good face primer before makeup.
  • Apply makeup with a brush, not your fingers, especially if you have oily skin. Use a spray-on brush cleaner in between applying primer and foundation for a quick clean.
  • Use a toothbrush to brush your brows; spray hairspray on the toothbrush first if they need extra help staying in place. Use this technique on flyaway hairs around the hairline, too.
  • Don't use face products with perfumes as they can darken any pigmentation in the skin. from Glitter Gloss Garbage
