• inconsequential but significant things I regret:
    • leaving my dress shoes in Barcelona. i like didn't have room for ANYTHING and was panicking and cursing myself but damn, I should have kept those damn shoes. they're the perfect height, wedge incline, and look. fuuuuck.
    • at the homecoming party or whatever saving up all the little monies-things so i could get an ipod whose volume buttons would stick by the end of summer. i was so upset about my ipod going kaput. i should have fucking got the gopro (which I hardly knew about, but i definitely noticed it).
  • the french pronunciation of "orleans". amazing.
  • a better grasp of european geography, due to study abroad research
  • that the people who you admire and thought were rich were only rich in life, not materials
  • that is not very chewy chicken in canned new england clam chowder
  • yoohoos
  • my name is both "knowledge" and "farewell"
  • K-pop is a beautiful lie
  • white people don't keep their tans
  • men aren't very different from boys at all. they just learn to overcome their own ignorance and hold off on the fallibilities of their circumstance.
  • men are idiots and women are stupid (I think I had a different word for this that was a bit more precise but it does not come to me at the moment). men are continuous idiots throughout their lives. they let their ignorance and ego step forward before their own senses. women on the other hand can see everything that is to come, but either make the decision to not stop it or decide to ignore their sight. the heroes of humanity are the people who both accept the faults of humanity and decide to reach further regardless.
  • even if you want something so bad and for so long that it somehow "justifies" buying it, it will never provide you with the happiness to fill whatever emotional void you're attempting to displace.
  • people will always avoid truth.
  • everything in America is about money and those who can figure out the system win.
  • every person is extremely beautiful. this must be the human part of me saying this. humans are just extremely attractive.
  • I didn't notice this much as a child, but historical fiction and historical films allow for a more enduring memory of history. When figuring out who came before whom and the proximity of events to others, there's nothing like a well-wrought film or at least a well-consulted TV drama.
  • the shoes make the fucking outfit.
  • there is a peace in everything having a place (and not having things that do not have a place) and at least personally, out of sight and out of mind is a literal and dangerous undertaking.
  • it is not worth it to compare yourself or allow others to compare yourself to people who do not reflect your major personal experience. aspire to be on par with people who align with your values and recognize your beauty among those most similar to you.
