memories
- pepperland was conquered by sgt. pepper himself. he took the land from the blue meanies.
- the sergeant and his cavalry (including the four of us) had been fighting against the meanies using force for a while, but only realized they were sensitive to song on accident! we thusly played them out of the land, making a settlement based on our own ideals - transcendentalism, love, and music!
- we were a band! we were put in charge of protecting pepperland from the blue meanies if there was another invasion. but also we just made people happy!
- fred was lord mayor's... son? nephew? i'm not sure but they were related. lord mayor was put in power after sgt. pepper passed away.
- the movie shows us as the spitting image of the beatles, but this wasn't quite the case. we were a bit different, and, in fact, a bit less human - but that might've just been tricks of the eye. then again, that was the same as everything in pepperland.
- my hat’s wings were operational. if i was too tired to take it off at the end of a day, it would flutter off my head and onto the hat rack by itself.
- since we were 80,000 leagues under the sea, gravity was altered slightly. movements felt a bit more airy - as they do underwater.
- there was literally someone in the infantry who went by General Codger. like his last name was literally Codger.
- the rest of the lonely hearts and i had been friends for a long, long time - since we were kids.
- we'd commonly listen to captain fred or lord mayor talk about the land on the surface - great britain, you know. i, personally, didn't believe a word of it; there's no way a land that drab and dull could exist in the same one as us.
- the grass in pepperland was always very warm, and waved gently at all times. whether this was because of wind or because we were underwater, i'm not sure.
- submarines commonly traveled through the sky, of all colors and shapes. they were fun to watch!
- blue meanies had zeppelins instead of submarines. they had the typical Meanie Face painted on the front.
- the "mr. boatswain" mentioned in yellow submarine is fred boatswain, aka old fred.
- my name was rhys (rhymes with "miss"), the trombone player's name was jaune, and i believe the flautist's name was something like pomme.
- i was kind of a hothead. not really in the violent anger sort of way, i was just very passionate.
- we had very long lifespans. i'm not sure how long, compared to that of a human, but long.
- i believe pepperland was accessed through the dover strait. the connection to france was why so many of us ended up having french names.
- the beatles stole our songs! pomme encouraged us to teach the beatles our songs, and they took them to the surface. however, this ended with them slightly rewriting them and publishing them as their own with little to no mention of ourselves. some songs include:
- when i'm 64 (altered from "when i'm 264")
- sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band
- yellow submarine
- hey bulldog
- only a northern song
- all together now (this might've been only a chant, for us...)
- octopus's garden
- and probably others.
- along with trumpet, i could also play upright bass and the drums.
