memories

• i had a name, and we had a language, but i cannot for the LIFE of me remember it or anything about it. it sorta sounded the way english does to foreigners, but with like... a french inflection, i think?
  • we also had a written language - notation stuff - but like. it was Illegible. it was Not roman lettering.
• i remember a lot of my tinkering was just because i had such a busy brain that i needed to distract myself, otherwise i'd sink into it and fixate.
  • it wasn't a particularly bad fixation - it just wasn't something i wanted to do!
• i was sort of an ugly duckling-type. i was birdlike; the rest of the creatures in the reed forest were as well. no one really minded that i looked that way. just came out lookin' a little funky, is all.
• i tended to ramble a lot. i don't think i really knew when to stop.
• there's a part in varekai where i'm pulling around a sort of... inflatable cloud-looking thing. i'm not sure what it was, but i did it often.
• some of the off-colored marks on my body and face were sorta, like... oil? for tinkering. the stripes on my shoulder were three different kinds, there for reference, and a lot of the blue smudges on my face were from rubbing my hands on it while thinking.
• my laboratory was up, higher past the reed forest we lived in. i think i got up and down via ladder.
  • i'm not sure how i actually brought my machines up and down. i think i either put them on my back or balanced them precariously on my head.
  • i remember dropping one of my machines on the way down and crying like a baby because it broke at the bottom
• i found the prediction that icarus would fall when i was getting prophecies from the stars. this one told me that icarus would bring something to the planet, but didn't tell me what it was.
  • i told the others, and they interpreted it as material, which is why they immediately jumped to loot his body.
• the guide and i actually thought he was dead when he first landed. well- he thought he was dead, i didn't believe him, and when i tested and found the same results, i panicked. i was SO UPSET
• the next act was actually a funeral proceeding. very long, very Extra (tm). he was lifted up in a net, but none of us realized he was still alive in the net, so he started to panic, too. that was the act, actually! just a lot less graceful.
