• first birthday: large party thrown by my parents with every serbian person we know. i wore a pink dress, ran around, and wreaked havoc.
  • second birthday: this was my first birthday in canada, i had a costume party and dressed up like a clown, sasa was a little baby, luka was batman, nina was a princess (obviously) and her arm was in a cast
  • third birthday: i wore a really puffy blue dress and got a fisher-price kitchen, i think we had the same people over every year just family friends
  • fourth birthday: i wish i remembered, it was probably just like the third birthday.
  • fifth birthday: i had a gymnastics party at flicka and i was really sick so my mom made me wear tights under my dress which made me unhappy.
  • sixth birthday: peter the pizza magician!
  • seventh birthday: i really am not too sure.
  • eighth birthday: my aunt was over from colorado, she took me shopping and i bought a shiny purple mini skirt which i proceeded to wear for my disco-themed party.
  • ninth birthday: we rented a space in the rec center and i had a dance party. i was in westview at this point and all my friends from that party are mothers now.
  • tenth birthday: i think i did the same thing as the year before. i really liked eminem that year so that was something that i listened to at the dance party.
  • eleventh birthday: probably nothing...grade six was a hard year to be me.
  • twelfth birthday: had a party at my house where everyone had to "dress up crazy". jayde came dressed in one of hannah's dad's suits. she bought me an orange beater with cupcakes on the front.
  • thirteenth birthday: i think this is when birthdays became less of a thing i did stuff for and more of a see-my-three-friends-all-at-once thing.
  • fourteenth birthday: the same.
  • fifteenth: i had a house party, my parents agreed to evacuate the premises, i drank over a mickey of vodka and almost got alcohol poisoning. the party was over before nine pm. i haven't had vodka since.
  • sixteenth: i think i just went to granville island with hannah. it was really nice though.
  • seventeenth: pretty much another low-key thing. hannah and i went to the island to celebrate my birthday weekend but it was a horrible trip and just the worst experience and i think the reason we later stopped being friends. crazy.
  • eighteenth: i had my giant final exam on that day for arts one. later i just spent time with ben and my family. it was actually a really nice birthday. but they threw a huge party for me the weekend after and i got a lot of bank for turning eighteen because that's a big deal in serbia. i spent it on europe.
