"After all these years, I see that I was mistaken about Eve in the beginning; it is better to live outside the Garden with her than inside without her" -Mark Twain, The Diary of Adam and Eve.

  • Dumbo- When Dumbo's mom rocks him through the bars, and that little lullaby is playing. breaks my heart every time
  • Philadelphia- Having spent gone to a private school, we never really were talked to about gay rights and HIV, without the searing Biblical commentary. My mom rented this and I remember watching and being amazed that people could be so cruel to another human being because of their sexuality. That life was too short to be so hateful, and if someone finds love, regardless of gender, that's a good thing. Needless to say this opinion didn't go down well at school, but I'm so thankful to my mom for letting me watch it. I cry everytime.
  • Terms of Endearment- It's the whole mom/daughter relationship thing.
  • Stella- My sister and I watched this again over the summer (as Adults now), and the ending, where her daughter is getting married and Stella is watching through the window, Tear-City! My sister and I looked at each other and we were both crying. Only a mom could be so self-less.
  • Beaches- Best friend movie, someone has to die! And of course we all cry...
  • Steel Magnolias- After Shelby dies and Melynn goes to pick up Jack Jr. That scene when Jack Jr comes running up to her, I loose it.
  • A time to Kill- Again, it's all in the ending.
  • E.T- Yes...once again it's that ending.
  • Life is Beautiful- So many find this movie inappropriate because it's a "comedy" set during the Holocaust. But the relationship between father and son is so moving, and it's all a matter of set up and that ending when the tank pulls up and Joshua's face just lights up. How could you not cry?
  • Juno-generally I did not care for this film and thought it was ridiculously over-hyped. However, when Jennifer Garner picks up that baby for the first time, I was bawling. Adoption is such a beautiful thing!
