may 15 2012 + A few teenagers broke into the Ahavath Israel d’Chasidei Viznitz synagogue on Saturday march 20th and vandalized it. It is located in the Hassidic community in Outremont. They were said to have gotten in by the back window of the synagogue between 1:30 and 6:00 AM. Swastikas were found all over the place, including two on the bima, which is the equivalent to a catholic pulpit. Congregates who came to their usual service early in the morning noticed prayer books and prayer shawls all over the floor, scattered. A curtain around the Torah had also been removed, but the Torah was put away at the time, so it wasn’t taken. mar 23 2010 ∞

mar 31 2010 + Research:1) What is an improvisational solo in the jazz idiom? The definition of the word “improvise” is to compose and perform or deliver without previous preparation or in music, it would be to compose, play, recite, or sing (verse, music, etc.) on the spur of the moment. So basically creating an improvisational solo in the Jazz idiom is to create a series of bars that contain any notes that you want, and it has to be made on the spot. Some improvisational solos can be pre meditated, depending on the type of solo, and others can be just in the spur of the moment, playing a series of notes that come to your head.2) How long has Jazz improvisation been around? Jazz music in general started in 1910s in New Orleans. It really picked up in the late 19th and early 20th century, in African American communities in the southern United States. It also started around that time in Cuba. During t... mar 25 2010 ∞
