explosions in the sky @ vogue theatre
- i understand now why 20+ 'adults' despise all ages concerts. teenagers are idiots.
- crowd surfing at eits? teenagers probably. yup. idiots.
- the female counterpart of a 40+ couple that sat in front of me plugged her ears after the second song and rarely put down her hands in the next hour. the man kept looking sideways at her and looked worried for a few seconds at a time but he obviously wanted to enjoy the music. about 20 minutes before the end they walked out. it was annoyingly distracting.
- WHY DID THEY EVEN BUY TICKETS TO THIS CONCERT?????
- WHY GO TO A CONCERT AT ALL IF YOU'RE SO AVERSE TO THE LITTLEST VIBRATION???
- ALL CONCERTS ARE LOUD, AND ESPECIALLY THIS CASE OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE THE VENUE WAS SMALL
- honestly, old people....JUST STAY HOME OR TAKE SALSA DANCING LESSONS
- oh, and there were surprisingly many 40+ looking folk there. i was expecting it to be mostly college/university students. i was even shocked at the amount of large packs of teenage hipster brats. eugh. good thing i decided to take a seat near the back.
- stupid teenager with his group of other stupid teenagers at the front of the line, i was fourth, was talking to a neighbour about his favourite songs and he mentioned "Postcard from 1956". WHAT KIND OF FAN ARE YOU??? IT'S 1952. 52. TWO. GET IT RIGHT.
- all the prepubescent moronic looking hipsters and pseudo-hipsters congregated in front of the stage and made it into a smoke pit
- clouds of smoke would puff into the air right in front of the band every other second
- good thing the band was not one to interact with the audience and mostly kept their eyes closed while playing; i don't think i could bear their disgust if they witnessed the stupidity that showcased last night. i don't even think they noticed security guard that crouched across stage and pretty much dove into the crowd to chase after the surfer.
- people who sit down at a concert in a small venue should just stay home
- this guy three rows in front of me was totally rocking to the music. i fell in love with his back. unfortunately he had a partner whom he obviously dragged along with him because she sat for nearly the entire show. even when 'your hand in mine' came on he was still standing and she sitting in her seat. like honestly i wanted to shout at him that i would make a much better girlfriend
- munaf rayani ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but really i love every single member!!!!! and that awesome bassist with long curly hair and a beard.
- oh, and the opening act was twin sister. yeah, not much to say there. the lead singer was nice to look at though. pretty.
- i can't believe it's over. o_o
- explosions in the sky in studio and explosions in the sky live are very different
- in studio, i have to say, the drums seem a bit dry and sparse and on its own wavelength apart from the guitars; but live, it's the opposite. you get so caught up in the experience: you watch the guitarists, follow their fingers and body movements, watch their expressions, and it's easy to pick out their parts. but the percussion is subtle and difficult to distinguish from the loudness of the 3-4 different riffs that are going on. and that's what i love. now i understand why people think eits is so much better live.
- mark smith, michael james, and munaf rayani are the most underrated guitarists in the world. not that i have any knowledge of the subject itself, but i certainly don't hear people talking about their music as much as they should be.
- "the only moment we were alone" was EPIC GAHHHHHHHH SO AMAZING BOOM
- songs they did not play that i wanted them to play:
- human qualities
- memorial
- first breath after coma
- songs i love now that i didn't care too much for before the show:
- the only moment we were alone
