• our sweet little historic hotel (and inexpensive!)
• tacky tourist souveniers
• camping on the beach!!
• ridiculous catcalls from overly optimistic Mexican men
• real tortilla chips
• the border crossing-- always interesting
• sunsets
• returning to school and finding sand in my books
• Pelicans
• driving through the Mexican countryside
• Mariachi music
• warm, clear water
• rising and falling tides
• sand castles, or sand whales, or sand mermaids
• full-service gas stations
• Coca Cola with real sugar
