• freedom of speech i think it's great to have freedom of speech and being able to state your opinion and views on different subjects but i don't think people should be able to slander or demean other people or groups. i guess that's how i'm contradicting myself.. i believe in freedom of speech - to an extent. there is a difference between saying what you believe as opposed to just putting someone down. particularly religious groups, people of different ethnicities, people with disabilities or sexual preference are subjected to these acts and that is where i believe people take freedom of speech too far and demean these groups of people. that's the confusing part i guess; finding the difference between freedom of speech and being cruel. as for consequences, i'm not sure what the best solution is.
