When a Princess goes out she must be prepared for all eventualities, tucked away in a handbag or purse she carries all those little essentials and treasures that she can never be without. I have put together a list of items that a princess might like to carry with her, of course this varies with each of us.

  • A handkerchief, lace or otherwise, embroidered with her initials. For little sneezes and coughs and to offer to a tearful friend or acquaintance.
  • A cardholder, silver or embossed leather perhaps. To hold one’s calling cards and other important pieces of plastic and paper.
  • A small diary or notebook and a pen. For recording her wonderful adventures and whimsical thoughts. Also useful for shopping lists, to do lists and spontaneous poetry.

Fashion

  • Loves loose-fitting one-piece dresses.
  • Wears one-piece dresses and skirts as everyday dresses.
  • Prefers somewhat quirky clothing to simpler or mainstream styles (but doesn't really like flashy or bold styles). I do like some bold things.
  • Wears a seemingly natural type of fashion style with a little quirk to it.
  • Is particular about materials.
  • Loves to wear European ethnic clothing.
  • Dresses in A-line clothes.
  • Loves one-piece dresses that little girls would like as well.
  • Loves smock-like one-piece dresses and blouses.
  • Doesn't like super sweet fashion (like lolita or fairy kei). I wear lolita, too.
  • Loves deep earthy colors like burgundy, dark green, dark blue, and brown.

Autumn is officially here! Where I live, this season brings about a mess of different weathers– some days are warm, some chilly, some are dry, and sometimes it rains for days on end. So here are activities saplings can do for each kind of weather the fall offers. Now I know some of these activities are what mori girls do naturally, especially in the fall, but hopefully it will inspire you! Maybe you’ll even get an idea or two ;)

Sunny/Warm Days

  • ❧ collect fallen leaves; dry press them for collection or decoration
  • ❧ collect acorns, pinecones, and other fallen nature
  • ❧ take a local field guide, go for a walk, and try your hand at identifying mushrooms, plants, and trees
  • ❧ outdoor photography

  • Start a lolita blog or Youtube channel. You don't have to be an experienced veteran chalk full of tutorials and sage advice - just write about your experiences and outfits.
  • Keep a physical journal of diary. Writing your thoughts, feelings, problems, and daily activities will give you an outlet and will provide you with a time capsule of memories.
  • Learn calligraphy - or maybe start out with refining your cursive.

  • Rose. Roses are one of the most common symbols in fairy tales, especially those featuring Princesses. In Beauty and the Beast it is a rose that Beauty’s father steals which seals her fate. Sleeping beauty is often known as Briar Rose and in some versions it is thorny roses which grow all over the sleeping castle. Roses are very ancient feminine symbols, once associated with Venus/Aphrodite the Goddess of love and beauty and The Virgin Mary, they are still popular symbols of love today and often considered the queen of flowers.
  • Mirror. Mirrors often have magical qualities in fairy tales. The most well known is surely the one belonging to the Queen in Snow White, which shows the truth when asked a question. There is a whole room lined with mirrors in Beauty and the Beast (possibly reminiscent of the Hall of Mir...

Becoming more confident is a long journey full of hard work. I’ve always had very low confidence but in the last few years I managed to become more confident than I ever imagined I’d be. Here are the things that helped me with my confidence the most:

  • Wake up with music that makes you feel good - Create a playlist of songs that make you feel alive and powerful and then listen to it every morning.
  • Stop being mean to yourself - So many of us call ourselves a disappointment on daily basis without realizing it. I want you to imagine you are talking to a friend, not yourself. You wouldn’t call your friend useless every time they mess up, would you?
  • Wear clothes you are comfortable in - I’m not necessarily talking physical comfort. You should feel beautiful in your clo...
