GOOD

• It falls on a Friday, 3 day weekend!
• My mom is flying all the way from Puerto Rico to spend the weekend with me.
  • I LOVE MY MOTHER!!!, she is the best lady in the history of the world.
• Maybe I will grill something, play bocce ball & watch the fireworks on the bay.
• I will probably spend Saturday with my Mom in San Francisco, which usually involves drinking Champaign, and if drunk enough, me encouraging my mother she should buy those ridiculously expensive earrings because she works her ass off and she deserves it.
  • This is followed by a post morning OH MY GOD reaction when she realizes I encouraged her to spend more money that her monthly mortgage payment on something that she wears on her ears...
    • I am a total enabler.

BAD

• I'm Puerto Rican, Celebrating the 4th of July is the equivalent of Celebrating our occupation...It isn't my independence day...We're still occupied, and can't vote.
  • I can vote now...because i live in the states...but if you are an American citizen and live in Puerto Rico you loose all your voting rights...no more voting for the President....
  • Once there is some kind of resolution to our status, maybe I will have a genuine reason to celebrate
• I find excessive displays of nationalism kind of tacky...This applies to all nationalities...
  • Us Ricans, we go all out... It’s bad...
• Fireworks scare puppies and doggies everywhere.
• Considering there are over a 1,000 fires in the state right now, the idea of purposely shooting fireballs into the sky...doesn't seem that smart.
• Having to listen to a medley of Patriotic songs (America the Beautiful, Yankee Doodle, etc.) makes me want to vomit. When they are not completely tacky they just are sappily romantic. They just plain suck.
