- día 5.
- this is the day i think of the most , ever since you left me i keep going back to this one. it was just us two against the world , as it should be. i had been really anxious leading up to it , the idea of being in a car for 2 hours was pretty scary so i spent a lot of that morning trying to keep calm. i took a tranquilizer and some pepto bismol cuz it was starting to make my stomach hurt. we had woken up really early , the morning was wet and cold ,, the windows all foggy. it looked pretty nice , at one point i wrote B + M on the window near your suitcase but i was so anxious i forgot to show it to you. you still saw it anyways. i don't you if you worried a bit about me but i tried to be strong for you , i couldn't deny that i was also really excited to go on a longer trip together. thankfully the feeling all but disappeared when i saw my dad's rented car and got inside to see my sister there too ( i didn't forget to bring her a tranquilizer just in case which she luckily didn't need ). the left side door was always jammed so you had to poke your head in through the window to open it for me. i made a small joke to my sister that this was like a full family trip , just with you instead of our brother hhh. we all greeted each other , i translated for my parents and for you and we took off. my dad was a bit upset cuz they had gone out of the house an hour later than he preferred so he worried about the traffic , which he would be right about eventually "૮₍ ˶•⤙•˶ ₎ა while getting out of the city you'd again read out stuff out loud and sometimes ask me what they meant , you got to see our own cat of the vacation tho i missed it , you held my hand and i showed your ring to my sister ,, i loved still how much your pointed out stuff that was different from what you were used to , how much you looked out of the window , i was so happy the day had gotten a lot warmer and the sky was so blue ,, it all looked much prettier for you to see. the traffic was indeed pretty crazy leaving the city , there was that part where there was just a big mass of cars trying to change lanes all at the same time and my mom asked you if you'd be brave enough to drive here at this hour and you just said a very decisive ' no ! '. we had to take a short detour cuz i needed to pee , it took a bit to find a gas station but thankfully i wasn't bursting or anything , your presence truly kept me calm which helped it not worsen ,, you were holding my hand and rubbing it , you were so sweet. i went in with my sister , while i waited for her i saw my dad coming out of the men's restroom and realized you were left alone with my mom in the car so i was wondering if she said anything to you ^^; i asked my dad what he thought of you so far but i can't remember exactly what he said , i just know it was smth positive and i was really happy he liked you. he then helped find the hand washing soap that was inside a shampoo bottle instead of the dispenser loll. on the way back my sister said she liked you and wanted to talk more to you but she felt really shy to approach you , i said you were so friendly that there was really nothing to be afraid of. you were already becoming quite popular ⸜( ˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ i remember you slept for a bit too , i was a bit sleepy too so i'm pretty sure i closed my eyes for a few minutes with you. after that our next stop was on the tárcoles river , specifically the new skywalk that had opened just a month before to watch some crocodiles. the whole walk there was so exciting , it was like we were on a dinosaur adventure and i really wanted you to see some big reptiles. once we got to the end we took some pictures of the place , my family took a few of us together which i think are pretty cute. in the end we only got to see two crocodiles ,, the main bridge has been going through some repairs and it may have scared most of them away for the time being. there was another family there , and a guy with a telescope-looking thing that he let us borrow to see this crocodile he was watching ,, i liked hearing your surprised oh! when you saw it. on our way back you were brave enough to walk through the netting that's meant for sitting/laying down above the river ,, that scared me even tho i knew it was safe but i also impressed you were so gutsy with stuff like that ,, i didn't know that about you ! before getting to go outside we had to go through the biggest tourist trap tho they did have some cool items for sale there , like that sloth bear plushie i put on your head , the wooden coffeemakers that you didn't know were coffeemakers , the actual chocolate-making machine they had behind a glass and the lady taking a video of it. it was so much fun. back on the road we still had some good ways to go , it was a lot more nature-y and you seemed really interested in all you saw ,, i was so excited when you got to see just a small glimpse of the ocean. your first time being that close to the pacific ocean ☆ i wondered what you were thinking of seeing all that tropical nature and atmosphere , i wish the day had been so much longer. i felt a tinge of anxiety but also lots of excitement when we got to best western ,, it was a really nice looking place ! we had to wait for the guy at reception to finish w/e he was doing and in the meantime i went to throw away our wafer packages in a trash can and took a photo of the carreta they had there. we told the guy at reception that we were there for our day pass , me covering you with any words that slipped your mind and they gave us these hospital-like pink bracelets , two tickets to exchange for towels a the pool and two ice cold water bottles that i soon was pressing against my chest. a child had also come up to us asking for the hour in english and you gave it to him in spanish x) we gave the place a quick look and decided to have breakfast before anything else , we went upstairs where we waited for a second until the waiter took us to a free table. we sat down in a pretty nice spot a bit closer to the veranda , we looked at each other and you looked as happy as i was ,, given it was a buffet we decided to take turns getting our food so there'd always be one of us looking after our things. i can't really remember what we each had , only that the gallo pinto i had was really good ! this was also when we first met The Dying Guy , that old man with the green neon t-shirt that sounded and looked like he was about to drop dead with the way he was coughing ,, you said you wondered if he just started coughing like a dying baby every time he ate. i quickly started to feel full tho so i ended up leaving some of my food ,, we grabbed our things again and headed downstairs , you grabbing my hand so i wouldn't " clumsily trip again " , and we tried to figure out where the lockers were since the signs didn't really point to them. i approached a janitor and asked him and he said they should be in the bathrooms so we headed there ( i said we were gonna see if he was a truther or a liar , i remember cuz we said " liar " at the same time yipee ! ) i went in first , it was pretty big in there but i did find the lockers in the end ,, i got a bit confused since they didn't really lock but i didn't wanna carry my bad and shoes everywhere so i just threw them in there and hoped for the best. i had gotten my swimsuit out and planned to change on a stall but it was much harder then i thought i was going to be , it took a long time and i hoped you weren't too worried about if smth had happened ,, it was funny tho that while i was there someone else entered another stall and let out a big fart. i put my things on the locker again , luckily no one was in there to know i had my things on locker #8 ! i believe you weren't around when i came out so i waited for you ,, once we reunited we headed straight for the beach ,, on the way there you offered to put some of my things inside your bag. i liked how you always offered to carry my things even if i usually declined , i just didn't want to take advantage if i could still carry them myself ૮ ◞ ﻌ ◟ ა passing by the pool we saw it was filled with bubbles from some event taking place , i wanted to jump in but i also wanted us to enjoy the beach before the tide and sun got crazier. i really loved seeing the ocean so close again , the wind and the smell of it ( even tho these beaches tend to not have the best scent ) and having you there with me made it so much better. we stationed not too far for the lifeguard and put our things right by the line where the sand gets wet ( rookie mistake fgdshj ) and proceeded to put on sunscreen. as we finished that tho these two ladies spawned out of literal nowhere and i immediately hated them ,, they were scammers wanting to braid my hair and give us massages. they wouldn't get a hint and even had the audacity to start rubbing massage oil on our backs ,, it was scary cuz they moved so fast i couldn't really tell them to leave. we were just looking at each other all confused and baffled , all i could think of was to pull you away towards the sea and grab our things and start talking to them in english so they would feel awkward and leave us alone which worked ! i just didn't think that the oil they used on us had rubbed the sunscreen away :( thankfully we didn't see them again and we just parked a ways away and finally got to enjoy the ocean. the tide was indeed pretty crazy , with many rip currents. the sand was a bit on the coarser side but i really liked the gravely feeling when i would dig my feet or hands in it. we sat where the water would reach us only occasionally and just looked at the waves. we played around with the wet sand ,, grabbing clumps of it and throwing it at each other's legs ,, burying our hands together under the sand to " anchor " ourselves. you were laughing a lot , i loved how it felt just as if we were alone in the airbnb ,, you seemed really relaxed. it was so fun to try to guess when the tide would reach us , a bit scary when it did but your laugh and smile were so bright. when we'd get up we'd hold hands as the tide pushed and pulled us , i loved just staring at you ,, i knew i was supposed to be looking at the ocean at all times but i couldn't help myself , you looked like an angel ,, a very sandy and muddy angel. it was always a bit scary when you'd run in deeper to wash yourself but thankfully you never tried to swim in the ocean , you were just having a lot of fun. it was really funny when you stood in front of me with your arms extended as if to shield me from the waves , i called you my human shield. you remember tho that the tide reached our things at least two times ,, it didn't bother me much cuz it seemed most of the important stuff stayed mostly dry but i was worried it was gonna be stressing you out , luckily it didn't seemed to be the case ! it just added to the adventure (=´ ∇｀=) there was that other moment where we were just walking along the shore side by side ,, i tried to keep an eye on our things but in the one second i didn't look at them these other two ladies spawned in and were looking at them so we ran towards them , i think i roared at them. i was worried they were gonna steal them but also was having fun with it , i doubt i would've been that calm if you hadn't been with me. luckily they just strolled along and started taking pictures of themselves so they weren't bad people. we enjoyed the beach a bit more , i wish i had taken pictures of you playing in the ocean , i wanna live in that moment with you forever. i felt like the sun and tide were getting a bit too much tho so i asked if you wanted to go to the pool now and you said yes. we headed back , looking for an outside shower to wash off all the sand , we found one near some chairs and waited for the old couple there to finish washing themselves. you pointed out the nearby " butt can " for cigarettes and the warning sign for potential stingrays and were confused about how we seemingly use the same spanish word for stingrays and manta rays. you went to the shower first while i stayed with our stuff , you took my hat that had gotten covered in sand to try and wash it off. i waited there for a bit , we were under a palm tree shade which felt nice , i had started to feel like my back was burning while we were in the ocean. you came back and it was my turn , i tried to take my towel that had also gotten covered in sand to try to wash some of it off but it was too much ,, at least you tried to help me a little bit. you also covered for me while i washed the sand inside my swimsuit , i offered i could do the same so you could get the sand inside yours but you were too shy for that i suppose ( ´･ω･) we headed to the pool , hand in hand as always. it was such a nice place , we even walked on the small bridge separating the main pool from the side one , and looked for a nice chair in the shade to put your bag and our towels to " dry ". we put on some more sunscreen and then headed to the pool ,, i was looking for the ladder to get in it quickly since the hot floor was burning my feet while you basically ran ahead and just jumped right in. i was pretty nervous despite it not looked that deep so you helped me get down , after that we had so much fun. it took me a while to get used to the feeling of being in the water so i first only saw you swim around , once i felt more used to it you helped me walk along the wall , you tried to show me how to float but i still couldn't do it without holding unto the ladder and walls , we then walked/swam to the center of the pool where there was some kind of short pillar jutting our of the water , we wondered what it was for and you assumed it was for the bubbles we had seen earlier. we stayed most of our time under the shade of that thing , i loved seeing you swim alongside me as i walked around ,, you tried to stand on your hands , you played dead to see if i could lift you up ( i could , barely ) , you let me " swim " while holding unto you as you carried me around ,, we did that one for a good while , it was so funny when we passed by that toddler and his dad was cheering me on thinking i was trying to swim for real while his kid tried to follow us and then trying to carry you in the same way , i wanna have your face that close to mine again. i liked it when i was standing near the pillar and you were just swimming on your back around it , i even started to miss you during the few seconds i couldn't see you. dancing in the water with you , i loved seeing you have so much fun. it felt like we were in there for ages but really it was just . i really miss it. after a while we decided to get out to have lunch , we would've gone with just our swimsuits but we worried there was so kind of dress code so we got dressed right there , my shorts had gotten wet from the tide so you gave me your dry swimming trunks. however i believe this was where we started to notice you had probably gotten a sunburn , your back was looking quite pink and i think you said it felt really hot. i put on some more sunscreen and you asked me to take a picture of it. you said you might need some aloe vera ( we had another moment of me trying to say aloe like you cuz otherwise you couldn't understand what i was talking about fgjh ) and that they might be selling some in the gift shop. we went upstairs for lunch first where again a waiter took us to a free table ,, i again can't remember what we each had but i remember it was delicious ! we once again met with The Dying Guy who once again was coughing up a storm. there were apparently two birthdays going on as well since the staff sang a birthday song twice , the table behind us clapping along to both even if it was obvious they weren't friends/family members with the second birthday guy. you asked me to never do that to you lol.
