- I once read an article on genetic trauma. It's the idea that when you suffer you can pass on your suffering to your children through your genes. Since I read that I spend a lot of time wondering how much I'm going to pass on my children (if I ever have them, that is). At what point do you say enough pain is enough and pull the chord on kids entirely?
- Today I saw pictures of before dogs went into shelters and after. It was really depressing. One dog went in as a youthful pup, tongue sticking out and tail wagging. After four years he was photographed again. This time he had white around his eyes and muzzle. He was much more stoic and downtrodden. It made me cry. We don't deserve dogs.
