the pros and cons of going to school...in my book at least
PROS
- gets me out of the house
- I enjoy learning new topics
- They offer art classes
- if/when i finish i'll be making more money than if i hadn't gone
- the atmosphere (sometimes)
- when you have a really good teacher who is generally interested in you and your well being and that really wants you to succeed
- the challenge (sometimes)
- makes me feel smarter
- actually makes me smarter (probably)
- the feeling of accomplishment i get
CONS
- the cost of classes
- the cost of books and supplies
- the time
- the confusion
- not knowing what i want to do with the rest of my life and the pressure i get from everyone to pick a major already
- the run around i get when going to the financial aid or counseling offices
- having to take stupid GE classes
- Math
- not understanding a class and feeling really stupid
- not passing a hard class
- having to retake a class
- schools being run like businesses and not like institutions for higher learning
- the difficulty in registering for classes
- the difficulty in actually getting the classes i need/ want
- When talking to a counselor, always feeling rushed to get the appt over and done with
- having no direction
- the teachers that pretty much make you teach the subject to yourself even tho theyre getting paid to teach you
- taking a class you think sounds interesting and exciting only to find out its the exact opposite (dull and boring AND a lot of work)
- having home work
- having to take tests
- being graded/ judged on my work
- not having a social life / being disconnected from the rest of the world and then getting depressed cause your stuck doing more and more school work
- the load of school work you have to do
- finals
- the redic amount of follow up you have to do just to make sure your stuff is getting processed
- not graduating when you thought you would be
- the feeling like theyre not actually there to help you
- the feeling of not getting any help at all
